jericho has now decided that he is hungry at 6 in the morning instead of his usual 830am. even if he has food in his bowl he wants fresh food. i usually try to shoo him away and put it off because i know he isnt starving or suffering until im ready to get up. well now after a few minutes of kneeding, nudging, and meowing he has started biting my hair as well! it does always make me get up because by that point im so annoyed ill do anything to get him out of my face lol. does anyone else's cat do this? i dont even know where he learned this, its only been the past like 3 days, but its getting quite annoying. how can i make him stop!?

If you figure out a way to make him stop, let me know. Flowerbelle does this. I also have to make sure to keep her claws really well clipped, or I wind up with scabs all over my head from her pawing at my head.

I blow in her face really sharply several times (she KNOWS this means no but ignores me) and pull the blanket up around me with just my nose sticking out and then pull a pillow over my head. After about a week of this, she'll give up for a couple of weeks, and then we're back to the same routine.

For a kitty that hears, if you keep a can of air by the bed and make it "hiss" this might scare him off. Just make sure the can of air is NOT pointed at him, as it freezes skin if the air hits it.

Sherman used to do this when he was really being affectionate, he still rarely tries. My solution was to shove him off the bed (hey, you try cleaning up poop skid marks that go through two rooms because your cat had a cling-on from eating your hair!) because any sort of touching/holding him when he's like that just riles him up more... then I have a drooling cat to deal with. He eventually lost interest.
The other part of the solution was to encourage Siri's fondness for sleeping beside my head. She'll start growling if he gets too close and will smack him if he wakes her up suddenly.

Push Jericho down to your knees and tell him to knock it off. When he comes back up to your face, push him down beside you and keep your hand on him for a bit forcing him to settle. He'll either get the message or get bored and wander off.
