Vet visit for Sophie!

Last summer she had a tiny black spot under her chin, about the size of small pin head. It came off but i noticed it was a little red so i kept my eye on it.

It cleared up, but last night when i watched her wash herself i noticed it was back and a little bigger. It looks a bit inflamed as well, so fingers crosed it's just feline acne

She has an appointment at 4.45 this afternoon

Sending love to Lady Sophie.

I will keep checking back for your post vet update.

The vet said it's one of two things..

A. A benign tumour

B. A rodent ulcer
...
He said it's definitely not cancer because he was able to move it when he took hold of it (Thank God!!!)

He's given her a shot of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and said if it hasn't dried up and dropped off in 10-14 days we'll talk about getting it cut out. He said even if it does clear up it may come back so it's best to get it cut out if it does come back.

I'm off to do a search on those now, but i'm just so pleased that it's nothing sinister

That's good (I think) glad it went well for Sophie and I hope "it" drops off and doesn't come back

Thank heavens it's not cancer.

What ever this is Susan...
I know that you will not rest until it's healed.

I won't Lei, so i'm hoping it does because i don't want to put her under unless absolutely necessary

That it just drops off, so glad that its nothing sinister.x

That's great news that it's not cancer! Hopefully it will fall off on it's own, and Sophie won't have to have it removed.
Glad he ruled out the scariest option - cancer! I'll be sending that it goes away on its own....

rodent ulcer = eosinophilic granuloma. jamie has had trouble with that off and on. here are some links:

Glad the worst has been ruled out. I know you'll do whatever is needful to get it gone for good, but I hope it does just dry up and drop off. for Miss Sophie.

It's dried up and shrunk a lot since yesterday, so fingers crossed the injections doing it's job

Thanks for those links Tricia!

Continued vibes for Sophie!

Did he check her mouth? Often sores like that are caused by dental problems.

Glad she's doing better.

I had a feel this morning and it feels like some of it's dropped off?! . It's still smaller as well, not that it was huge, but i can see it just looks like a small scab now

I asked the vet if it still had a tiny scab in 10-14 days does he want to see her still but he said there would be no need, so that it keeps shrinking!
Sending the all important TCS shrink vibes to Lady Sophie.

Keep it up sweetheart.
