If this doesn't belong here, please do remove it. I'm originally from Texas and moved to MD a few months ago. My cat is an indoor cat and would like to show her snow for the first time. She'll be on a harness and will be wearing a warm sweater, do you think she'll get sick? or a little romp around the snow wont hurt her? She has all her shots and medicines and such =)
Thank you so very much.

One of our cats was an indoor/outdoor cat and she loved the snow. I let Parker outside in the snow once to see it. He didn't like it much and came back in right away. It never hurt him.

I dont even think you would need a sweater. For the amount of trouble putting it on would be, cats already have a pretty good fur coat. Many ferals find ways to survive harsh winters outdoors. For what I'm assuming is half an hour or less outside, there should be no problems. Enjoy the walk!

Lots of cats don't even like touching the snow with their paws. When you go outside make sure the area they first touch is shoveled. They any enjoy the view they run back inside.

We let Bender go outside last night the snow was only a couple of inches deep. About 10 paws prints before he ran back into the house. Funny though on Sunday he was outside for about 45 minutes on the patio wall had to walk on heavier snow to get their to survey hos domain.

Take your cat outside. As long as you can make sure she doesn't run off. She won't catch a cold. If she ins't happy though bring her back inside. We took
Lynxx
out in the snow once. He didn't really like it. For Luna and Midnight we brought snow inside on a plate and let them play with it in the kitchen. They pawed it, licked it and that was it. Let your cat sit in a window and watch the snow. That's something I bet she'd enjoy! Let us know what she thinks of the snow

That's why I love this site, it always has friendly people in it to talk about our kitty problems. It's so beautiful outside right now, the small storm we had last night left us with what I believe is two to three inches of snow. The sun is shining but it's not going anywhere since it's 27degrees right now. Thank you everyone and I'll make sure to take pictures and a video if I can hahha. And of course, if she doesn't like it, I'll def take her inside right away <3

As you can tell, operation snow cat day just wasn't for my girl. At least I got to try it out to see if she'd like it. Some kitties will and others just won't. Took her inside after the video and is now warm and cozy where she likes it haha. I know she's thinking "never ever take me out in the scary snow again mom."

At least you tried. At least she can now say she experienced standing in snow. She's a beautiful cat

Too funny!

We got 14 inches of snow over Christmas. Sneaky was being a pain and wanted out the front door. The drift was taller than she was. But we opened the door anyhow. The cat took one look at the drift- hissed, then ran away

Then she wanted to go outside. Dh had made a path from the back door over to the bird feeders so we could feed them. The cat walked on the path. Then she decided to see if she could walk in the snow. After being buried up to her belly (she's a short round cat), she turned around and booked it back into the house.

Holly wanted nothing to do with it. In fact- when she looked out the back door and it opened she looked as if she was saying "Yeah right- I'm going out in that when I'm already in a nice warm house".

If you have a fully linoleum or tile floor in the house you could still bring her a small snow ball. I do that with mine and they bat that around the kitchen till it melts.

That video was adorable!
It appears that she doesn't like snow very much listening to her meowing.
When Wessie experienced his first snow he wasn't much for it, but then started bounding around in it and having a blast. He stayed outside a whole lot that winter.

Aww, what a pretty kitty!
But.. no, I'd say by the tone of her meows she was not happy one bit being in the snow.
Oh well, at least you all know now!
