Gmorning. Today's question is an easy one.

Do you like your name? (first name) Is it shortened, do you have any nicknames, or how about ways ppl use your name that really annoy you? Would you change your name if you could?

My name is okay I guess. My mom named me after Lana Turner's (her fave actress) daughter--Cheryl Ann. My dad always called me "Red" because of my hair, but that nickname died with him. I'm just Cheryl now

My first name is Mariya (pronounced like Maria), I think it's kinda boring, but I would never change it.
My nickname is Mimi, but only really close friends and family call me that. I guess what really annoys me is when people call me Mika, it's my grandmother's nickname and I was named after her, so a lot of my family who doesn't spend a lot of time with me will call me that, because they assume I go by that without really knowing.

My name is Pamela Sue. Most people call me Pam, although some of my friends will call me Pammy. One of the guys here at work has a tendency to call me Pammy. I don't know why....it doesn't bother me.

I always knew that I was in trouble when my mother would call me by my whole name "Pamela Sue!"

Meh, I don't really care honestly. It's not a name that can be shortened. No nicknames, though my mother tries to call me Amie? (sounds like hammy without the H) and I absolutely hate that. I've told her not to call me that for as long as I can remember because it's irritating.
Changing a name costs money and I really don't have any problem with my name. (I have a problem with wasting money, though
)

I name is actually Carol Ann but I never used the Ann. All friends call me Carol but some older relatives called me Carol Ann. I would've liked to have an e at the end of my name Carole, it has more character.

Here is the weird thing tho, my sister and I spell our last names differently. Before she was married she spelled our family name with an e at the end of it whereas I did not. I think my Dad changed it at some point. At the cemetary where both are buried the name on the stone is as I spelled it but our relatives with the same name who are also buried there do have the e at the end of it.

Like it (thanks mom and dad). It can be shortened and I go by the short version a lot as well.

I like my name. I don't meet very many people with my name. It's not short for anything, just Kara. I have a few nicknames that DH calls me, but they don't have anything to do with my real name. lol The only thing that irritates me about my name when it comes to other people is that my name is pronounced Care-uh and I HATE it when people call me Car-uh (which happens ALL the time, people rarely pronounce my name right, which seems odd to me. It's not a completely rare name.

My first name is Jordan. I have always found it annoying when people say "Dont see a lot of girls name Jordan." Actually yeah ya do... I went to school with 3 other Jordans, all girls. Its a unisex name! (sorry for the rant! LOL!)
Most people tend to call me Jordi, (although most mispell it! There is no E there is no Y!) although a few call me Jurrdy, dont even know how that started.... the same people also call Gary Gurry.
And my dads family also calls me Jorjor a lot.

I dont think I would change my name. I have actually grown to like it.

Although my mom did want to name me Dillian...boy or girl... But luckily someone talked her out of that!

I loathe my first name and the middle one is even worse.....another example of parents eathing their children by naming one after a celebrityr.....blech. Never thought much of the celebrity either.

I hated my first name for years; every new school year, I was inevitably called Elizabeth, then had to explain that I was Libby. That always got a confused look, and I would be called Lizzie, Beth, Betty. My maternal grandmother never spelled it correctly---for some reason she always wrote Libbie.
When I got older, I was told the story of how my paternal grandfather asked if he could name the new baby (me) if it proved to be a girl My folks already had a name picked-Elizabeth Anne, family names from both sides. Grandpa wanted to name me after his mother-Mary Elizabeth. So, legally, my name is Mary Elizabeth Anne.
I now like my name, and am always surprised when I hear it being used for someone else. In fact, the little girl across the street from me is also a Libby, and it just amazes me!

I hated my name when I was little. Marianne isn't so bad. It does annoy me when people in my family spell my name wrong. I have only had one nickname. "Boo" when I was born my brother couldn't say baby. so he called me pretty Boo. I was called that most of my childhood.

I like my name well enough I guess. No nicknames. I like this spelling of the name. Gary has lots, but nothing to do with my name.
As we work together, people frequently accidentally combine our names and pop out with a Larry or a Gory.

I hated my birth name, which is why I had it legally changed some years ago.
Obviously I love my name now, I picked it!

I like my name. When I was around 11-12 I didn't, but I had odd mood swings at that age. My nickname is based on my first name. In our family, we drop the 1st or 2nd syllable (usually the 1st syllable), then the remainder gets tweeked, usually. In my sister's case, we dropped the 1st & 2nd syllable, then tweeked the 3rd (final) syllable, giving her a 1-syllable nickname. Other family members do not have nicknames. How all this happened, no one really knows

Eh, maybe-- but after all these years, my name's just as much a part of me as my right hand. Might as well just stick with it
