I checked her mouth tonight and I think she might have an infection? Her mouth smells different and it seems a little red? It's hard to tell, because I'm having trouble getting a good look at her tooth, because I am afraid of hurting her. I'm not used to opening her mouth.
But she's been eating and drinking normally and her personality also seems normal still. She doesn't seem like she's in any pain. I don't know. I think I am going to phone my vet tomorrow and ask for an earlier check-up just to be safe. It might just be red from the stitches? But I am going to try again later and be really careful when opening her mouth. Either I try again, or maybe just wait for the vet to check her out? I might just be worrying too much. I'm not sure of the exact signs would be if she does have infection?

If you notice something different. If you think something is wrong. You know your cat best. You should call the vet.

Same with Swanie when he had a tooth pulled recently. The vet said it was up to him if he wanted to eat the kibble it would be okay. I gave him wet for a bit, but he did want the kibble and do fine with it.

The Blue Wilderness canned food is made by the Blue Buffalo company. They have different types of canned food. The Blue Wilderness is grain free. The Turkey, for example, has on the ingredients list: first Turkey, and second, Turkey broth. Potatoes, however, is third.

I think feeding cats a variety of foods, at least canned foods, is a good idea. The same goes for human nutrition. The more variety, the greater chance of balanced nutrition, and the less chance of too much of a bad thing.

Lately my cats, most of them, are not so excited about TOLW canned food. They leave most of it. It's odd because it's supposed to be good stuff and much preferred by discriminating cats. Not mine.

I haven't seen that!

Blue Wilderness is Blue Buffalo. Blue Buffalo is now calling itself Blue, with no Buffalo. Wilderness is one of their lines, like Blue Healthy Gourmet.

I've been feeding a lot of Blue for about the last, wow, it's been 8 months now. There's only one flavor being served, Blue Healthy Gourmet flaked chicken.

I haven't tried any of the other flavors in the Healthy Gourmet flaked, I did try the sliced chicken in Healthy Gourmet sliced, (it wasn't a hit) nor have I tried their other lines.

I also use the Blue Healthy Living adult and Blue Healthy Living growth (Kitten) kibble for snacks

<edit> they also get other canned foods besides Blue healthy gourmet flaked chicken, other brands I mean.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have not replied back in awhile, but I just wanted to let everyone know
that Betty has been to the vet and she has healed up well. There is no infection, and everything is good. I want to thank everyone who has responded
and helped out, I really appreciate it! So now she's all good and I don't have
to worry about her tooth anymore. Everything is back to normal.

My Dr recommended if you wanted to use the dry food, soak it in water for 5-8 min and then drain the water. The food will be soggy but still have some texture. My cat had 2 teeth pulled and that's what I did. Hope kitty's doing good!

Hi xxikayixx. :wavey: Welcome to TCS. We'd love to hear about you and your kitties in the New Cats on the Block forum.

Just a note. You responded to a thread that is over a year old. If you're interested in contributing to discussions about having teeth pulled you might want to do search for more recent threads in the Health forum.
