I've been feeling really good lately. I've resumed normal activities, am eating well and generally doing well.

Last night, something strange happened. I woke up for my usual potty break. As I got out of bed, I glanced at the clock as usual (so I know how much more sleep time I have) and noted it was 3:41. I remember sitting on the toilet....then I wake up on the tile by the bathroom door.

That tile was hard--and COLD! I first made sure nothing was injured and then went back to bed. It was then 3:53. I have no idea how long I was "out." Dh said he heard the crash but assumed it was a cat so ignored it. Sigh--I may have lost a little weight, but I'm still way bigger than a CAT! LOL

Anyway, I went back to bed and slept until 7. I'm now noticing sore areas from the fall, but no bruising.

Strange. I've never flat out fainted before. Hope it doesn't happen again!

It sounds like the vagus nerve.

Though I have probably would have reacted the same as your husband. I suspect that someone could break into the house and I would dismiss the noise as something the cats were doing.

I think you're right, as when I was waking up I heard a sound like "shrill rushing water" for a minute or so.

Thanks for the info!

Oh my goodness! Find something semi hard like a newspaper or magazine and smack your husband with it!

Hope that doesn't happen to you again!

When we get from a good sleep our bp is usually quite low. That may have contributed to it.

Gosh, I hope that does not happen again. Glad to hear you are doing so well otherwise!

Could it be a side effect of a medicine that your taking?

As for your husband thinking you falling was just 1 of the cats, I'd give him a smack.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the support and ideas. I've been fine all day, even went to the gym early this morn. Dh does seem a bit sheepish. :p

I don't think it's my meds, as I've been on the same ones for about 10 years. I do think it has something to do with the hot flashes I've been having, tho. The chemo is notorious for killing ovaries and I think that's happened to me. I have hot flashes about every 45 min 24/7 and as I remember, that's what woke me up last night. I saw the gyn last week and she just offered me BIRTH CONTROL PILLS and I passed on that. Will be seeking another opinion....

Going to keep an eye on things and will let my primary care doc know (he's a family friend.)

Thanks again for the concern.

Healing's a weird thing, you'd think immediately after a procedure, we feel better. Usually, though, people feel worse for a few days (at least) before taking on the ups and downs of getting better. Something like what you've been though takes its toll on all of your body. I'm guessing what happened is part of your healing. Take care of yourself, guess now your husband will be looking out for you better.

WOW! That is really weird! Glad you didn't do any severe damage to yourself. Of course, I thought you were going to say that you had fallen asleep while on the potty!

For the hot flashes, I've heard black cohosh works well.
