A friend of mine sent me an email saying her roommate needs to find a home for her 2 cats. Her husband was overseas when she adopted them, and when he came home they found out he's pretty allergic to them. He just wants anyone to take them, doesn't matter to him if it's a good home or not. My friend wants them to go to a good loving home like the one my cats have, but I cannot take on two more. This is what she sent me:

Hey...I was just wondering if you might know someone who would love and adore two kittens??? I always see your posts about your kitties and can tell that they are very loved! Sooo I really want these to go to someone like you. They are my best friend/roomate's kittens. They will be a year old on April 17th. They have all their shots and are litter box trained. They've never been outside and have been together their whole lives. The male (Ali) is a big chunk (about 12ish lbs) and such a lover. He will just lay in my bed and chill...but will also be playful. The female (Jasmine) is a typical cat that loves to do her own thing...but she is still very sweet and lovey. They really are great cats...I'd keep them if I had my own home!!! The only reason she's getting rid of them is because her husband is reallyyy allergic. She got them when he was overseas...and he's back now and he can't take them. So they stay locked up in a room all day...until I know they're gone and I let them run around a lil bit. Well now that I've written a book about them...sorry! I just really love them and hate to see them go. So a GREAT home is a must. Thanks!
I told her I would try, she replied with this:

Thanks girl! I reallyyy appreciate it! Her husband just wants them out, doesn't care who they go to...which breaks my heart. He also jokes that me and my best friend just need to leave for a weekend and he will just "take care of them." Sooo I guess we need to hurry and find a great family because he's being really insistent :-(. I really love them, they're too cool to go to just anyone. Thanks again
Please if anyone knows someone in the area who can provide a good forever home for these two, let me know!!

This is a sad story all around. There are things allergic people can do - has he tried anything at all? Or is it just, "Honey, I'm home - get rid of those pesky animals!" (Sorry, it just makes me sad for the wife, who probably needed to fill a void while her hubby was gone, and got the kittens).

I don't have any real advice, just wanted to thank you for your efforts. I hope these little guys find a wonderful home and can stay together!

His attitude from what my friend tells me seems like it's just "get rid of these animals!", since he doesn't care where they end up or if the home is good or not

I really don't think there's anyone on here anywhere near where I live unfortunately, but it's worth a shot.

I feel for the wife and the kind of guy she is married too. Not that he is allergic, I get that. It is is uncaring comments about the two little darlings his wife has loved and cared for and what he "would do" if he could.
That would be a bit of a prob for me.

Anyway, it is great you are trying to help find a new home for them. Good luck and sending good wishes your way.

I hope they are able to find a good home soon. Since he doesn't want them there, it probably isn't safe for them to be there much longer.
