Problem accessing TCS

My4LLMA has been having trouble accessing TCS since I think Tuesday night. She's able to access her private messages, but that's it - can't see the forums. But she's not having problems with other websites. When she clicks on the forums, it just "hangs" there.

??????????????????????????????????????

I suggested I post here in case it's an admin thing or in case anyone has any suggestions for her.

It hasn't gotten that serious here, but I also have been having difficulties. Most of the time I find the site will load the top banner all the way down to the "user cp FAQ Cat Games, etc" part, then freeze there. This happens most frequently when I do a "new post" search. I have to hit refresh, then it usually works after some procrastinating. PMs have always shown up, even when the main body of the site would not. I would say during bad periods it's at least every other page visit that does it, and sometimes it's only one in ten.

I had a devil of a time with it this morning when I first logged on. It seems to be OK now.

The problem, I think, is with some of the ads that are very slow in loading and can cause the whole page to freeze.

That could be a contributing factor, but some members were getting error messages yesterday.

I'm not having trouble with pages freezing but for some reason I am being asked to log back in all the time. If I keep TCS running and go do something else, when I come back I need to log back in. This has been happening over the past two weeks. I've not had that problem in the past.

This always comes as a shock to a site owner, but those ads make demands on the site that have to be paid, usually with bandwidth reduction.

One telling feature would be whether any Premium members had problems.

At least two of them were getting the error messages, so it probably isn't just the ads.

I'm not aware of any particular issues. No changes in advertising networks or anything of the sort. I'll ask our server admin to take a look though - please do keep reporting issues, they're my only way of knowing something's wrong. Thank you!

No problems here at all - towards the end of the contest it started getting a bit slower to load but seems to be back on track
