Hello everyone. I've posted a couple times but didn't introduce myself yet. I'd like to introduce you to all my kitties that I talk about all the time. I've been lurking around and reading but never posted before. Everyone here seems pretty nice and I think it'll be a good place to be!
This is Angus. He's between 10-11 years old, and the oldest of the bunch. He's always been really healthy until he got blocked with crystals last Thanksgiving. He was in really bad shape by the time I found him, but he's doing better. He likes to chew on my hair, and has ever since he was a kitten. In fact, that's what he's doing right now as I post. He came all the way from Michigan when I was visiting family one summer. They had him as a kitten but he fell in love with me, so came to Tennessee with me! He is apparently named after someone from AC/DC.
This is Mattie. I got her from an apartment manager. She's probably 6. She'd been a stray some lady took in, but the lady had to move and couldn't take her. They knew I loved cats and asked me if I'd take her. She's very skittish and scared of everyone except me and my boyfriend. She's beautiful and loves to get brushed. She loves it so much that I accidentally brushed a bald spot on her once and she still wanted me to keep brushing. She literally lived under my couch for a few months when I first got her. I put food and water under there until I started catching her out and about in the middle of the night. She actually really enjoys petting and attention, but it conflicts with how scared she is.
This is Russel. He's a real trouble maker because he's smart. I think he's part Siamese, and he's maybe 5 or 6. I got him from the animal shelter, and he was sneezing blood when I brought him home. He had a serious URI and it's done some permanent damage to his nasal cavities, but he's doing well. He's also got pancreatitis, so I have to watch what he eats. He gets bored easily and loves to knock stuff over, especially open drink cans and full glasses. If you line stuff on a shelf when he's bored, he'll jump up there and knock each thing down, one at a time, and watch them fall to the floor. He loves kneading wool blankets and clothes, but he also has a thing for bare skin. He and Angus don't get along too well because they're both needy and want my attention every second of every day, but he's a sweetheart.
So those are my babies! I have a tendency to get needy cats. I like giving the attention and love to hear them purring on my lap. Angus and Russel both are lap cats. Mattie would be if she wasn't so afraid.
