From what I understand, scientists think there's an answer to the phenomenon. Something about neuro activity in the brain and an abnormal blip---Something about brain signals racing at such a fast immeasurable speed which then (in the case of an abnormal blip) can cause our brain to form an immediate HIGHLY VIVID memory ... Due to the extremely vivid quality of the signal blip and how close together signal #1 and signal #2 are, we then process signal #2 as something profound from the past because the "memory" (signal #1) is crystal clear and recent (to put it mildly) allowing us to describe it perfectly, much in the same way as what's clearly in front of our face is easy to describe.
I don't know how the exact explanation goes, but it's basically like the above. I have had deja vu but not often
