OW! I think I just broke my toe (again). I dropped a 50 pound piece of plywood on it. Not fun. It's the big toe on my left foot. It's swollen to about 3 times its normal size now. The nail is gone for sure. It'll probably fall off some time tonight.

OUCH!
I'm sorry hun, I know how painful a broken toe is. I've done so a few times myself. I hope that it heals up quickly and that it's not broken after all.

Ugh!

You should go and get it xrayed. They don't do anything for broken toes, but an injury of that sort could have done some serious injury to the arteries and veins. Better to go get it looked at to make sure.

I have an appointment to see the doc tomorrow afternoon. I don't think it's too serious. I'll try to keep it immobilized until tomorrow, but I don't think it's bad enough to go to the hospital.

Again??? My sister did that last year.....right after the toe finally started to heal, she broke the same toe again! She was wearing sandals well into October last year, til the foot finally healed up.

for healing. Hope you'll be OK.

Sounds like you should consider steel toed shoes.

Hope it heals quickly!

No kidding. They make hiking boots and sneakers with steel toes now, if the standard work boot isn't what you like. Though my DH gets some nice Harley Davidson steel boots through work (he gets one pair free per year, additional boots are a percentage off), unfortunately that means he has quite a collection of boots now since he doesn't wear through them that fast.

Hopefully nothing significant was broken/fractured.

I usually do when I'm doing heavy lifting, but I was just helping a friend of mine build a work bench. I wasn't expecting to get there and find pieces of plywood the size of my car
.

But the good news is that it's not broken
just a big, painful bruise.
