As some of you know I recently had to move due to health issues (allergies). My new place is awesome though more expensive. 5 blcoks to a nice park with an ocean front on the pacific for running biking etc...

Unfortunately as many wild places in Okinawa it is heavilly populated by stray cats. They have many 'feeders' but TNR has yet to make inroads here perhaps due to the cost. This is a poor area of Japan.

They hang around the park benches and wait for someone to show up with kitty food and then come running.

This shy calico girl has been dubbed 'Zig' by me. the JBT gene seems to run rampant in the local population and there are all varieties of bobbed tails, fiddlehead tails, kinky tails, etc... Her tail is crimped into a zig-zag (3-4 opposing kinks!).

This little guy was one of last years kittens. I overheard one of the feeders talking. Apparently his siblings all died. He seems healthy and fat.

Ohhh those poor little dolls... They are all gorgeous! I would certainly be a frequent visitor there if I lived in Japan!

It's always so hard for me to see kitties running around wild. They are so cute, but it just breaks my heart knowing they don't have homes.

Thanks for the kind words. They are very well-fed. There seem to be an entire cadre of cat feeders who dole out kitty welfare.

Those are beautiful cats, it's to bad they can't find a forever home. It's good that people feed them, otherwise they probably wouldn't have anything to eat at all.
