Genever with a rose from the garden..

Just for the record, no, I don't exactly like her being on the kitchen table, but since we moved in August, with that big window there it's impossible to keep her off it. So I don't even tell her to get down anymore, I've just resorted to sanitizing it more often. sigh. Counters, though, are a no-no, but she rarely tries to go on them (that I know of
).

Great picture! I gave up a long time ago trying to keep Holland off of any surface she wants to be on. Thank goodness for Lysol wipes...

Thanks!

Cute pic, that looks like a great napping spot!

I don't know how perches work, but I would love to have something like that for her. Since our window sill isn't like a normal window sill with a ledge that sticks out, could i still attach it? And can you get one that is removeable or folds down, for when we want to use the table and that seat? She used to hate being on the windowsill, but now she will sit on it once in a while. Most times though she lies on the table and watches the goings on in the backyard..

You could also get something similar to a stair step or something with a pole and a flat surface on top for her to lay on (mini cat tree like thing). That would be easy to move out of the way if you needed to use that seat.

First off, beautiful picture! But, it's that Genever. I tell you, that gorgeous girl can't take a bad photo
. Oh, and the flower is also quite lovely. I wish I were able to garden. I can handle anything furry (and even some scaly and gilled creatures), but plants don't stand a chance with me. Sigh...maybe one day...

And, secondly, I wanted to agree with what Stephanie mentioned about adding a carpeted step or small cat tree to the area in front of the window. Had she not beat me to it, I would've said it myself. We've done that with our dining room window and it has helped immensely. I purchased a small, carpeted set of steps and it works as both a place to lounge and a scratching post. While I've long ago given up on getting my cats not to go on surfaces (though they are pretty good about it), it does keep their interest and they, more often than not, choose to lay in their spot rather than "mine."

Thanks for sharing G-cat's pic. It definitely brought a smile to my face!

Sounds like so much advantages for her, does she likes to roam out in the garden too?

She's beautiful.
I've given up keeping mine off the table too. For some reason, it's a prime lounging spot.

Gorgeous picture of a gorgeous girl! I could look at pictures of G-cat all day! She's such a pretty girl.

You know, all these years, we've managed for the most part to keep the cats off the table, at least when we're home. Sometimes in the summer when we have the ceiling fan running, Boo will lie on the table b/c he knows it's cooler there and DH allows that. But for a kitty to spend its life on the kitchen table? No, not happening.

Until Mollipop came to live with us. I come home from work and DH is sitting at the table reading the newspaper.....with Mollipop lying next to the paper. I had put a freshly-laundered throw on the table right before Christmas, thinking that I'd put it away. And then Molli took it over. I brought the throw to work with me yesterday and DH said Molli was most unhappy and, I swear that when I came home? She was sitting on the table yelling at me! About the throw! I went back to the computer room, brought her pink blankie out, and placed that on the table. And she promptly curled up on her blankie and laid there watching DH with his newspaper. She has claimed the table and there's not a thing we can do about it.

Sorry, I digress....back to your kitchen table. If you got a catnapper for the window, would it be possible to just move the table out from the wall a little bit when you have guests? That way whoever sits there will still have some room.

Thanks for more compliments and perch ideas.. We are definitely resigned to G-cat being on the table, just not when there's food on it or anything like that. She never bothered to go up there in the apartment, but it wasn't near a window there. So I do think the window is the attraction. Oh well.

Oh, and yes, she does love to roam around the backyard, we go out when it's nice out with her harness and leash. She's really good with it most times, took to it pretty much instantly. No real training was needed. She is just such a cool cat.

She doesn't eat flowers or plants. Just grass sometimes when we're outside. She did chew on the fake xmas tree quite a bit though..
