Nope I've never done that. Really have no desire to do it. I'd probably injure or kill myself trying to ride a horse...

I went quite a few times when I was younger, but haven't been on a horse for several years now.

Yes, I LOVE horseback riding, and I miss it. I used to go to a horse camp every year from 5th grade through 12th grade. The first couple years I stayed for one week, but after that I stayed for two weeks. I had the same horse every year, TC (Thunder Colt) who was one of the owners daughters horses. I loved it there and made a lot of friends and fond memories. It was always the favorite part of my summers. http://www.barlranchia.com/

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Only a few times. Went with the family while on vacation (camping) out west; went down the Grand Canyon on mules (spent the night at the bottom - the whole thing was VERY cool!!! ); and twice with Gary back in the early days on the road.

The twice when I was older my legs hurt from being in that weird, bent-out position!

It was always fun - but nothing I was overly passionate about. I totally get how people can love it - or hate it.

Years ago when I was younger. I don't think I could even get up on a horse now with my back and SI joint problems - if I managed it I'd be in pain and unable to move for days after.

One of the last few times I did get to ride I rode on a larger horse that was a bit green. She was really a sweet girl and never meant me any harm, but she was a tad spirited and playful. I ended up sailing over her head after taking the saddle horn to my stomach and not being able to hold on longer after that. That goofy horse walked over and looked at me lying on the ground as if to say "What are you doing down there?".

I rode as a kid, but then didn't for years. I spent a week at a ranch in 2009 and rode there. My mount was old and had just two speeds - plodding or galloping.
He'd lag behind the other horses and then run like the devil to catch up with them. He's the white one here:

horse riding but it was because i was led. dad would take us and walk the horses miles! but then i figured out how to make them go faster...
it was alot of fun but allergic to horses (and cats...) we found out later. that explains the sneezing all day out there

also had a horse come to my birthday party that was cool but strange as it was not the typical area for that so made me look very rich-even at 6 or so i picked that up

Definitely! I actually went horseback riding on New Years Day when I was visiting some of my family in Mississippi.

I did when I was younger. I'd love to go riding again. My hubby isn't a fan of horses though, says they are unpredictable
I have a friend who's family has a few horses, she invited me out to ride whenever, I just feel weird asking her to come out!

I too, have never been but would absolutely LOVE to. It's something I keep mentioning to Dana that we should do, but for some reason we never get around to it. I think horses are such beautiful animals.

I sat on a horse that walked 10 steps once, but that is the extent of my horseback riding. Id love to try one day, am certainly a little scared so will need the old tame gentle horse!

Yes, my DH and I met at a western riding stable 41 years ago. I had my own horse, and he has had many down through the years.

We would love to own again....he is always looking on CL. I get sooooo angry when people give their horses away. That is usually sentencing them to the slaughter house.

Our livingroom is horse themed and my DH welds using horseshoes making all kinds of neat things.

I absolutely adore horses as much as cats.
