Luna had a vet appointment this morning, her limping was worse last week. So we called. Now she's better again, she isn't limping as much anymore. The vet didn't think she would need surgery. She also doesn't want to do any surgery until Luna is an adult. She thinks this will heal on it's own. But she said even if this heals on it's own, Luna will always limp? She also said this would make Luna more likely to get arthritis later on?

My thinking is that as she's a kitty, as she develops her muscles will strengthen, and that also may help.

That link says it can be caused by past physical trauma. This could be because of how we found her, thrown from a pick up truck.
