Like dog biscuits. I've tried a couple of different kibbles just out of curiosity, and they all reminded me of dog biscuits of varying flavors. Tried them out of curiosity, too.

I still dont mind the taste of Milkbones, but dont go out of my way to eat them like I did as a kid with one of my friends
I never was a fan of cat kibble, which I tried out of curiosity after eating my dog's kibble (that I sort of enjoyed mixed with her wet food
Also, as a kid!)

Milk Bones have bone meal in them, though little else as far as icky ingredients go.

I too ate a bit of dry cat food when I was little. It was Friskies/Whiskas type stuff. It sure didn't taste like meat - kind of sharp hard to describe flavor. (I was maybe 3, but I have a good memory).

Well my cats' kibble both smell very unappealing, so I'll pass. I have tried dog biscuits before, just to see what the fuss was about. They were very boring and tasted like Ryvita. Don't know why the dogs got so excited about getting one!

I have tried milkbones as a child, but not other animal kibble.

What I want to know is, why don't they make all pet food taste like cat food?

My dogs prefer cat food.
My duck prefers cat food.
Even my iguana LOVED cat food.

So why don't they just make all pet food taste like cat food!?

Bone meal is just unprocessed jello, if that helps stop you thinking it's icky

No I never tried it, but when
Lynxx
was a kitten, my father tried it. He actually said it wasn't that bad.

I haven't tasted kibble. When Cleo was first diagnosed with renal failure, she wouldn't touch the original k/d canned food. I tasted it, and understood why. It tasted like liver flavored wallpaper paste....and yeah, I've also tasted wallpaper paste.

Not cat kibble but it was a rule at the dog kennel I worked at (please note we had very upper class customers) that you had to try a dog treat before you were considered a "true" employee! LOL! (it was mainly just the running joke)
The chicken jerky dog treats are pretty darn good. As well as most of the home made dog biscuits. They just taste like bland cookies

I tried both cat and dog kibble when I was a little kid. Not half bad from what I remember.

Well... I hate jello. It's disgusting.

As for why so many animals love cat food, it's just the fat and powder coating on it. BTW, never let an iguana have any meat product no matter how much they like it or sneak around to steal from the other pets bowls. In a herbivorous reptile that high of protein can induce renal failure.
(likewise watch all protein intake)

I asked my DH earlier after my first post in this thread if he had to try one of the current dry cat foods in the house which now which one would he be more willing to try. He just made a face.
I think I'd risk the natural balance duck and pea, not so sure about the TOTW with it's stronger smell, and there's no way I'd go near the C/D - I've seen hair in it.

Haha okay I admit I tried it once. My ferrets eat cat kibble and I was trying to decide what my mix of several different brands was going to be..they really LOVED Blue Buffalo Wilderness but ferrets need a high fat content and I wished the fat was a little higher..anyway, I couldn't decide if it was worth keeping in my mixture for them as I order big amounts at a time and mix it all up...so I thought hmmm well if they are really enjoying it, maybe I will just use it as filler or a backup food..and then I wondered what it tasted like...so I ate a piece
....it was really salty and mildly fishy
