That's such a relief that she ate. And so much!

And that she half sat in your lap - well she knows you are her savior.

I bet she will be a different (happier, calmer, more trusting) cat once she gets through all this.

I have the same pet insurance you have, I think. And no, dental isn't covered.

Plus Gracie is not insured, as they will not take a 12 yr old with hyperthyroid.

When I gave bugsy's and hope's dinner, I blended some for her too, around 6pm, and she ate just a little z/d. Now I came to the kitchen to make their last meal for the night, and she was up, standing by where her plate would be- clear message: mommy, hurry up! I am starving! I blended a can of fancy feast (I know not the best, but smelly, what she needs now) with some water, made it very smooth and she licked the plate clean! I need to pack for my trip tomorrow, and I think I might serve her a last meal before I go to bed, later tonight... I think she will still eat it, considering how well she licked her plate, just don't want to give it all at once.
I think she is going to be fine- this little girl is a fighter!

Wow... you've been through so much, Carolina! I'm so-o-o glad Gracie is doing better. If you can find it, B.G (Before Grain) 96% quail or salmon is pretty watery right out of the can. The food quality is so much better than Fancy Feast. (Don't 'cha wonder what makes FF so stinky??)
Love to you all. Hang in there! Please keep us posted.

My worry is that she eats right now, no matter what... I am not concerned with the quality of the food- I can take care of that later. I am at the airport going out of town for the next couple of days, which means she has a limmited amount of time to eat once kelly sets her food in front of her as food can not be left since bugsy will jump into her area to eat and he has chicken allergy and ibd. Her nose is all plugged up because of the oral nasal fistula, so she can't smell the food well- it has to be a stinky food for her to eat. I need to deal with what I have in hands, and that is what I have in hands now... I tried quality foods, she won't eat, so FF it is- I am ok with that...

Have a good trip, Carolina. I'm sure Gracie will do lots of nice healing and eating while you are gone and you'll return to a happy, healthier old gal!

An e-vet once told me that when a cat is sick or healing, whatever strikes their fancy as far as food goes is ok - that particular practice even kept some Friskies and Fancy Feast on hand, because a lot of cats will go for those lines when nothing else will work.

Let's hope that Gracie feels a little better every single day, so her mom gets good reports and can relax a little.

I agree, and my vet does too. ANY food is better than no food, and for a sick cat who needs to eat...feed her what she'll eat.

When Attitude wouldn't eat I'd put a bowl of Cat Chow(that is for the ferals) down so she would eat something. I didn't care that Cat Chow was crap, her eating was more important than the quality of food. Quantity is more important than quality when they have eating issues. Whatever she wanted and was willing to eat she'd get, didn't matter what it was.

I'm sorry Gracie is having such a tough time. I'd be grouchy too if I had a tooth in my mouth that looked like that. Just looking at it made my mouth hurt.

Kelly just called - she ate her whole dinner like a good girl

Kelly also gave her the antibiotic shot, the pain meds, and said she is doing good! All the other kitties are doing just fine too... Bugsy got his meds for the night, and him and Hope ate their whole wet meal as well

I will have a good night of sleep tonight! I miss my babies though...

In case you need it for future reference - I don't like the fish content in the Meow Mix cups - but there is one that is chunks of shrimp (I was the say it's a peach/pink label) that has a lot of stinky juice to it. I've mashed/blended it down & it still has plenty of stinky juice. I actually blended it with the Science Diet A/D for a kitty who wasn't eating much at all & got it to work.

The report I got today was that she ate like a pig
she went to the kitchen to check what kelly was up to, and to make sure she would get her food ASAP!
Kelly got a cold and is off from work, so she is going to hang out in the house all day with the babies- she is only leaving at night, or tomorrow, yey!

Oh, I'm so excited to read this! And she ventured out!! What a good girl! Guess she's feeling a bit better. So glad the kitties will have company today.
