I absolutely love Safeway!!
I've been home sick with the flu and haven't been able to get out to get any groceries for about a week and a half. Today I absolutely had to go.
I went and shopped, thinking that home delivery cut off was noon today. By the time I managed to get the shopping done and to the checkout, I was sweating buckets (dripping down my face) and so short of breath that I was seeing stars. As per the usual, they got me a chair to sit in and unpacked my cart for me. Then I heard the bad news: Delivery cut off was 11 am!! It was 11:55 when I got to the check stand.
So there I am, sitting in a chair at the checkout wondering how on earth I was going to carry 5 canvas totes plus a gallon of water from the taxi to my apartment, when the store manager walked by. The checker told him that I thought delivery had ended at noon, and asked if all of the orders had been picked up, and if not, if they could sneak another in.
Unfortunately all of the orders had already gone out. BUT the manager said that he would pull someone from the store and have them deliver it.
I just got my groceries. The assistant manager and a girl brought them.
People say you pay more at Safeway, but I don't mind paying that little extra on my grocery bill because I'm always able to find someone to help me, and they go that extra mile for their customers.

That is wonderful service. How nice of them to deliver them.
