We made the loving decision to put Callie to sleep this afternoon as her body was ravaged by chronic renal failure. She passed so peacefully and I held her in my arms as she took her final breaths and her heart stopped beating. What a brave soul she was!

Callie wandered into my life and into my heart in 1998. It only took me a few minutes to fall in love with her and become her human. She was a loyal & faithful companion and loving friend, a constant, peaceful presence who leaves behind a huge hole in my heart and in our family. There will never be another kitty like my precious girl. When her heart stopped beating this afternoon, part of mine stopped, too. She was a fighter in life and a fighter in death.

Thank you my sweet Callie girl so much for all you've taught me about kitties and about facing life. You were a brave girl taking a chance on a newbie cat owner. Thank you for choosing me to be your Meowmy. Thank you for accepting "that man" and calling him your Daddy and being there for him as he's recovered from back surgery. Thank you for accepting Hannah and for teaching Tumbles how to be a kitty. Thank you for blessing my life with so much love, joy, and laughter. You were such a low-maintenance kitty. You appreciated so much a safe home, a comfy spot to rest, a nice sunbeam, and a steady supply of food.

Play, run, and pounce freely in kitty heaven, my darling girl. Know how well you were loved and how much you'll be missed.

Good bye my sweetie. Meowmy loves you so much.

**You can read a longer tribute on my blog: http://stephanies-stitching-and-musings.blogspot.com/ .

I was very very sad to see this thread in the CTB forum.
Even if a kitty is older &/or has health issues, it's still hard to loose them.
I've always been drawn to her as she reminded me of my RB Damita.

Play happily over the Rainbow Bridge, Callie.

I don't come over to this part of the forum too much, but, when I saw this post, I knew that I'd have to respond. I was just hoping that it wasn't your beautiful Callie...

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I have no doubt how much you and your husband loved Callie. And, the decision you made today makes it all the more apparent that you loved her more than words could say. Callie was incredibly lucky to have you and your husband in her life and I know that your lives were better for having Callie. This post just breaks my heart. And, I wish I knew what to say. But, alas, I'm at a loss for words.

Rest in peace, sweet Callie. You were a precious, beautiful girl and you were much loved. And, in your life, you loved much. Play happily over the rainbow bridge and, every once in a while, look down and let your family know that you're okay.

Much love to you, your husband, Hannah Grace, and Tumbles as you all go through this difficult time. And, Callie, rest well, sweetheart. We all love you!

Callie

Such a sweet tribute.

She's at peace now, sending you all her love, as always. She had a wonderful life, and it hurts now as it does because you loved her so much.

There is a saying that when we die, everyone here says....."there they go". But at the Bridge it's a different story...it's "here they come".

Such a tender tribute to Callie. She lived with love and she left with love.

God bless her and you and your family. She is in great company. So many are there with her.

It's a little brighter over the Bridge today....she has arrived.

Oh Stephanie, it broke my heart to see this. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Take comfort in the fact that you gave her a long, wonderful life, and she is now at peace and pain-free.

Rest in peace, sweet Callie!
