Christmas Lights - colored or all white?

OK, so I am late with this poll.

Which do you prefer? I am all white all the way.

I prefer all white to look like candles.

Coloured! I love lots of colour, and never bother with themes, so I just throw in as much colour as possible

I like white inside and coloured outside. x

Since I don't put up any Christmas decorations, I voted on other. I prefer the non-electric version of light - candles, or simply the night sky.

Lately I've seen several people choose the LED blue lights. These aren't super bright and as far as outside light coming through my windows from neighboring homes, I prefer those.

We do both! I should post a picture...my son goes all out!

Coloured and blinking!

And I have a preference for the type of lights. I like this style:

I love coloured lights but I prefer the blue leds I think they are dull but bright

I prefer color, but I grew up with an insanely ornate tree, with multiple garlands, more ornaments than could fit, and LOTS of lights. I used to sit in the living room for hours staring at those lights, oooooooo. Outside, I prefer the blue lights, because the subdivision near my house that went all out for Christmas always used blue lights and it looks so good out in the country with white snow and dark tree trunks everywhere.

I haven't liked the blinking lights since we had an epileptic dog. Taking him for walks around Christmas was murder, because he'd have seizures despite his medication. Sometimes I'd have to blindfold him.

That's awful. Have you noticed some of the decorations and setups for lights now have strobe effect on them? I have to wonder how much of an issue that is for anyone that has epilepsy and that as a trigger.

Yeah, I've seen them on YouTube - they haven't come to Germany yet. I bet they're a nightmare for some epileptics.

I prefer colored lights all the way. I can get white lights just turning on my regular ceiling lights or lamps. I don't much like the blinking lights.

I got wireless Christmas tree lights this year, and they only come in white so far. They're LED, with a dimmer.

I bought an artificial Christmas tree for the first time ever this year. I had a really hard time finding one that wasn't "prelit". I finally found one at the 4th or 5th place I looked, and there was only one left in the store. I might have gone ahead and gotten one with lights built in except most of them were white lights only. I think I did see one with colored lights, but it was far more than I wanted to pay.

I prefer colored, but we put both on our tree.

Both!! I had colored lights on tree and both colored and white lights (well LED's version of white ) outside.

icicle lights in blue is my favorite. Inlaws neighbor has these cool lights i have never seen beofre they start as one color and switch but they start in middle of the house and change, the middle will say turn to blue and then the next ligt on both sides does. not sure if that makes any sense but no ones had them before

White lights! We have them on our house & I think they look so pretty
post #21 of 29
I havent had a tree for a couple of years, but when I do, I like a lot of color.

My mom does all white lights, on the tree, on the house, and most of her outdoor decorations are white lights with a few colored accents thrown in.

Our Christmas tree is the only lights we have, and its a pre-lit all-white-bulb tree. I just think it looks prettier, but still enjoy looking at all types of lights and colors

I like the colored lights. My parents like the white lights. So every other year we switch them

I theme and mix the clours - this year I have red and silver/white in the living room and on that (catproof) tree and green/gold/yellow on the main tree in the dining hall. I have to say I hate the blue ones - to me it is not a Christmas colour.

I actually like both. I have colored lights on my Christmas tree and we have white lights on the outside of the house. Very pretty!

Colored lights. I do not like all white lights. However, when doing colored lights when I used to decorate, I did not put up strings of mixed colored lights. Because from a distance, they blend together to make white or almost white. What I would do, is put up strings of all one color. For instance. One tree all green, another all blue, trim of the house all red, etc. I also used colored spot lights. I did use some white lights a few times in a couple trees, but would enhance the same tree with a colored spot light.

I voted for both

I like the look of some white lights, but I prefer colored lights. I think there's enough white during the winter..

I voted white as this year I have all white, it just depends on what I feel like when I decorate the tree, so some years they will be coloured.
