Let's see American (steak, baked potato, hamburgers, smoked brisket
etc.) followed very closely by Tex-Mex (chili con carne, cheese enchiladas - sharp cheddar only NO Velveta
, chicken or beef tamales.)

Americanized Chinese, followed by Americanized Mexican.
Americanized doesn't mean that it isn't spicy. Most "Chinese" food you get in restaurants here isn't authentic Chinese food. Same with Mexican. Most people that like "Americanized" Chinese or Mexican food would HATE the authentic. I happen to be one of them. One of my best friends is married to someone that was born and raised in Mexico, and I've had authentic Mexican food before and I don't like it at all (and most of what I've had wasn't spicy or even intended to be).Originally Posted by zohdee
I am not a big fan of "americanized" cuisine. I have a cast iron stomach and most of the "hot" foods are mildly spicy for me.
I realize that but I have many Asian friends who have taught me how to make food. I agree with the Mexican food I have had authentic and it was bland to me.Originally Posted by kara_leigh
