Mine is Chinese, followed by Italian.

Mexican, then probably Italian.

Mmmmm is steak a cuisine?

I do love steak and seafood, so I guess American/Australian/whatever country you're in/Western cuisine.

When it comes to foreign food though, I think Mexican is my favourite. Then Indian, and anything Asian - Chinese, Thai, Japanese (sushi)...

Definitely West Indian!!

I love Italian food, but with all of the cheese I can't really eat it without feeling sick.

I enjoy Greek food too, but find it extremely greasy.

I also love Chinese food, unfortunately the amount of salt in it causes me to swell up like a balloon.

And I'm with Sarah! I love a good steak! Medium rare!

My favourite is Indian....been trying to convert bf for 5 years now ...he has made some progress. Got a great Indian cookbook for Christmas from Mom - so looks like Ill be doing more kitchen experimentation - Lentils - here I come.

Also a fan of thai, vietnamese, and chinese....mmm. And italian of course....

Anything Gary cooks, though country french is what he does best.

I LOVE indian food if done properly, and it's just SO HARD TO FIND here in the U.S. I particularly love South Indian food, and know of exactly one restaurant out on Long Island that has one. I'm pretty sure I couldn't eat that level of spice anymore though, it takes a while to get there.

But I love most eithnic foods. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Brazilian...

I do NOT like "nuveaux" (or however you spell it) cuisine, and I hate the strange combinations of stuff they come up with in so many upscale restaurants in LA and NY.

Nouvelle Cuisine. Yeah! I'm not much for that either. I can handle the lighter calorie, but the emphasis in Nouvelle cuisine is on the presentation, which means more plate than food. It's ok if you are wanting a snack, but if you are looking for a serious meal that will fill you up, Nouvelle cuisine isn't it.

Main course example

The "fusion" foods aren't my favorite, either. We have a Turkish restaurant in town, though, that makes better pizza than the two Italian restaurants across the street from it.
I love Turkish food!

Mmmmmmmmmmexican is my fave, followed closely by Thai or Vietnamese.

Guacamole...salsa....the craving never ends....and I just had some for lunch, too!

Good thread!

Tough question for me since it depends on my mood that day.

Love oriental and slavic from all respective countries, Italian, French, Mexican and Island foods. From the U.S., love Tex Mex, Cajun, BBQ, and the good old steak & potatoes.

There isn't much food that I really don't like. There are only certain ingredients that I refuse to eat, and if a food is made with that ingredient, I won't touch it.

Americanized Chinese, followed by Americanized Mexican.
Bangladeshi every time, just don't get to eat it often enough.x
post #13 of 35
Italian. I like far more Italian dishes than I do of anything else, and it's something I tend to cook a lot of myself.

I've gotten to be a pickier eater with a more sensitive stomach the older I get, so I almost want to say Bland Food. But no, I'm not that bad... i don't think.

Is Soup a cuisine? I love making soups and stews, even in summer. Either something new from a recipe, or just throwing everything in a pot and hoping it tastes good (usually does!).

I love a lot of Italian foods, pizza, pasta, all that starchy carb stuff with tomatoes and cheese and basil... MMMM! I like to go out for certain things, and other things I much prefer to make myself so I can make them vegetarian.

I also like Greek/Mediterranean foods, falafel as long as it's not too spicy, feta cheese and olives, spanikopita, homemade pitas and homemade hummus... MMM!

French first and foremost with Italian a close second.

I don't like Asian food much at all and I've had a couple bad experiences with Mexican food.

My favourite is Greek. I had never had it until about 5 years ago and now I love it.
Indian for sure. Getting some REAL indian food from Iselin nj(anyone interested oak tree road has many places)
Let's see American (steak, baked potato, hamburgers, smoked brisket etc.) followed very closely by Tex-Mex (chili con carne, cheese enchiladas - sharp cheddar only NO Velveta, chicken or beef tamales.)
Chinese...I make a mean General Tso chicken that is better than what we can get in a restaurant.

I am not a big fan of "americanized" cuisine. I have a cast iron stomach and most of the "hot" foods are mildly spicy for me.

Americanized doesn't mean that it isn't spicy. Most "Chinese" food you get in restaurants here isn't authentic Chinese food. Same with Mexican. Most people that like "Americanized" Chinese or Mexican food would HATE the authentic. I happen to be one of them. One of my best friends is married to someone that was born and raised in Mexico, and I've had authentic Mexican food before and I don't like it at all (and most of what I've had wasn't spicy or even intended to be).

Mexican, Japanese, Greek, simple and spicy is good with me too.

Seafood! Definitely seafood is my favorite!

I like Greek food, too, but I rarely remember the names of stuff, so we order a "mixed platter for two" when we go to our favorite Greek restaurant.

I've come through this thread salivating and murmuring, "yeah, me too". I love it all. I don't think there's any cuisine I don't like, though if I absolutely have to choose, I guess it would be the Asian cuisines that get the nod, then the Mediterranean ones, and always seafood. But name another, and I'll likely be saying, "yeah that too!" And I'll try anything once.

I realize that but I have many Asian friends who have taught me how to make food. I agree with the Mexican food I have had authentic and it was bland to me.
