The blood tests she took from Patches yesterday finally showed improvement. Two of the enzymes are normal and two are still elevated. The most important one is at 400 which is still high but it was in the 1200s last week and the 700s the week before. She added a Sam-e and Milk Thistle supplement to his meds. I knew Milk Thistle supported liver function but I didn't know Sam-e did. She cut him down to two tube feedings and if he is still eating well she's going to remove his feeding tube this coming Monday. She's going to do another liver panel Monday and if he's back to normal start cutting his steroid dose. Hopefully a minimal dose will keep this in check. She has 3 to 4 in the afternoon set aside for people to call for phone consultations but I guess she was so happy to see his numbers she went ahead and called me before 3.
