There is a large, pine cone like scab on my cats ear. I took a photo of it, hoping I could post it on here. But it doesn't look that I am able too.

The horn like scab, which is on the middle of my cats ear has seem to hit a plateau in growth, however, new ones are just starting to form. Tiny scab like bumps, which I am worried will turn out like this one.

I am not sure what it is.

The best I can describe it:
It is large, the size about the size of a quarter...maybe a bit smaller.
It looks like a pine cone.
It feels like a scab (a bit flaky, but it is firm).

It does not seem to bother my cat, who is about 8 years old. I am afraid to remove it.

Any suggestions of what it could be? Or, how I can post a picture on here to show ppl?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Large growths like that are usually indicative of a tumor of some sort. Don't remove the scab, as it will most likely grow back larger. I did a google search and someone had a similar problem (no solution posted, and this was 7 years ago) and every time she peeled the scab off, at her vet's request, the scabs grew back larger and covered more of the ear.

No idea what it might be, especially without pictures. You say it looks like a pinecone. Does that mean something flat in the shape or a pinecone or is it growing out away from the ear? Is it on the inside of the ear or on the back? Is it only on the ear? No other patches somewhere else?

Have you asked a vet about it? None of us here can give professional advice. We can give you the benefit of personal experience (which I don't have in this case) and suggest questions for you to ask the vet.

What is your kitty's name?

for your kitty.
