Our old cat Gus had this habit of licking my arm and kneading it when he would sit in my lap. Sometimes he got really aggressive about it and it hurt. He was seven years old when he got out, and he was still doing it at that age.

Now Walter likes to suck on my hair and nuzzle my neck, and knead my neck or face while he's doing that. Not much fun when he sticks his paw in my mouth. YUCK! He goes back and forth from one side of my face to the other. He'll even fall asleep with his nose buried in my neck. lol

Gus was the runt of the litter (he was a kitten from my mom's cat's litter) and Walter is really small compared to his brother so I'm wondering if he was also. Maybe the sucking/licking thing is a runt thing?? *shrug*

Nora has never had any habits that I can think of.

Do any of your cats have any weird habits?

Tyler....
He paws at the windows with both paws together(I tell husband looks like a muslim as husbands family is loosley muslim
)
He will do this a hour straight at times. I gather his mom was not all there from what the owner stated. Got him at 6 weeks old as lady wanted them out ASAP!

Have a few who think litterbox is a sleeping box, one kitten who no matter what always lands in the toilet the split second between lifting seat up and sitting down
Misty who thinks shes a dog and goes out and eats dog food. all seem to have odd habits just some stick out and some are less stranger

Jamie likes to comb my hair with his claws, especially when I'm trying to sleep. He also won't settle down at night till I say "Don't let the bedbugs bite!", which he responds to with a big meow.

Sometimes I leave the bathroom door open when my roommate is at work and I'm taking a shower (broken fan). Tails will sprint full tilt down the hallway, into the bahroom, and jump in the shower when I'm there. He sits there for about 2 seconds looking kind of dumbstruck and getting soaked, then leaps back out and sprints away. Every time, without fault.

He also likes to fall asleep with one of his claws hooked on the corner of my mouth, and his head nestled in my neck. If nothing else, it has taught me to trim the burr off the tip of his claws frequently.

Memphis likes to watch the fire trucks and the ambulance leave the fire station that is three doors away. He'll sprint into the sunroom when he hears the garage door open, and stand on the 1 inch "windowsill" with all 4 paws just so he can watch the big trucks. If they drive our direction, he'll run a complete ring around the windowsill to watch.

When I feed Holland her wet food, she will eat a few bites, then run around like a crazy cat. If I approach her and try to play, she runs away as fast a she can, I guess that's part of her game.
Then after a few minutes of this she will return to her dish and finish eating.

She also has a relatively new habit... she is a burrower and about half the time she'll crawl under my covers and sleep with me at night. she used to to just come under and cuddle up, but lately she will stop half in-half out and just paw at the bed sheet. I don't know what she's doing... she's not kneading and her claws aren't out (so no big holes in the sheet - phew!), she just paws and paws and then eventually comes under and cuddles up to my leg. I don't get it...

I remembered that Nora does have a couple weird habits, both pertaining to her litter box. The first one, she can't just dig a bit, then poop, then bury it really quick. She spends about 5 minutes digging for just the right spot, then after she poops she buries it for what seems like forever. We always joke, saying "Nora's digging to China again!"
All the digging must help, though, b/c her litter box never smells.

Also, EVERY time she poops (she doesn't do this when she just pees) when she gets done she BOLTS out of the laundry room and then runs around the house like a maniac with her tail all poofed up, chirping and making all sorts of noises. It's really funny! I have NO clue why she does it, either.

1 weird thing
Lynxx
used to do. If 1 of us was in the bathroom and didn't fully shut the door, he would push the door open, walk right in. On his way out he'd wouldn't bother shutting the door, and he knew how to shut doors

Also
Lynxx
would make a certain noise, I'd respond by mimicing it, then he'd do it again. Sometimes we'd do this for over 10 minutes.

Midnight doesn't just cover his stuff in the litterbox, he buries it! He even made a gingerbread man out of his litter once

Luna actually likes her carrier, and will go in it on her own, and go right to sleep. Never seen a cat like their carrier before!

Both my cats know how to open the bathroom door, though Tails is less adept, being smaller as he is (not for long!). Memphis is very deft at opening the door, he paws it just right so it opens up about one body width.

I also have back and forth meowing conversations with Tails. He'llstart somewhere else in the apartment, I'll respond, and we'll play Marco Polo until he finds me, then he'll sit there meowing some more until he's all talked out.

my cats are the definition of weird.
Google is worse than any cat I have ever seen when it comes to boxes. He is currently pushing a shoe box around the living room trying to get in it.... through a hole the size of a half dollar...
He also sleeps in the sink. Plays in water. Poops in the litter box, and then runs through the house like he is trying to escape the smell :gag:! Claims random sleeping spots, rotates weekly. Has a thing about fuzzy blankets. He will get on them and start kneading them and purring as loud as possible.
Joey drools.... a lot.... must sleep between us. Comes to get us when its bedtime. Chases invisible objects. Coo's anytime you touch him. Sticks whiskers up noses. And if the alarm goes off, good luck sleeping any longer!

Zi has this thing where he likes to lick the computer chair.
I think he likes the feel of the fabric on his tongue.

Pria LOVES to lick condensation off of glasses, windows, etc.

Mollipop spends the morning in the bathroom with me while I'm getting ready for work. I have to hold her while brushing my teeth and she tries to take my toothbrush. Then she likes to play in the water from the faucet. She finally leaves when I get my hair dryer out.

Molli also loves her meals and snacks so much that she'll actually spin in circles while I'm putting her plate down. She has this little squeaky meow and she'll meow and meow, the whole time spinning around. Once her plate is down and she starts eating, she growls at the other cats if they come too close. Molli does not share her food. At all.

My4LLMA, you mentioned Luna and her carrier. Mollipop loves to sleep in her carrier, too. I think it's because when she was in the computer room for three weeks when I first brought her home, I kept the carrier with her with a fluffy pink blanket inside. And that's where she went to nap. Even now, if I bring her carrier up from the basement to take a kitty to the vet, I'll put her blankie inside and she'll go in, curl up and nap.

Ms. Pepe licks the shower curtain. It can be wet, it can be dry....she walks into the bathroom, hops up on the edge of the bathtub and starts licking. I can hear her from the bedroom.

BooBoo will get up on his hind legs and use his front paws to paw at the bay window in the living room. It's hilarious to watch him from the outside because all you see are these dark paws and his big white belly.

That's so strange, I've never met a cat that liked their carrier, except Luna and now your Mollipop.

Thomas sleeps in their carrier at night, but that's just when they are put in the bathroom. They sleep on the sofa when they are allowed out.
