Yes, that's part of it for me too.

Can you block the game posts on your wall but still play the game? I would LOVE that! I never click on those stupid things and hate that I get an email every time someone posts one. I stopped playing most of the games on Facebook b/c it got to the point where almost everything on them required using "facebook cash" which is your own real money. They also got way too dependent on other people helping you out, and I must have crappy friends b/c no one ever helped me. lol The new CityVille game is pretty good so far, but time will tell. It's the only game I play now.

I'm a huge Facebook addict, otherwise. I'm probably one of those that posts too much info on my status.
I post a lot. lol I also share a lot of pictures, though I don't think anyone other than my friends from here look at them. haha I love reading other peoples statuses. I like keeping up with my family members and old classmates. I also used to friend everyone that sent a request (well, minus those that I didn't know and/or I have no friends in common with) but I don't do that anymore. I actually just recently went through and deleted a BUNCH of my friends that I either never had any contact with (so what's the point?) or those that just added me for the sake of it. Now I just have close friends, family members, select classmates, and friends from here.

I have everything set to private on my page. I even have my statuses and pictures set to where I can block my mom, dad, and sister from seeing them if I want to. I had deleted my mom as my friend at one point, but refriended (is that a word? haha) her and put that restriction on her.

I like that, too.

I joined to keep track of my then-14-year-old daughter. My eldest child is on, also, and it's nice to see what he's doing since he recently moved out.

My 12-year-old wants to join, but I'm making him wait till he's 13. Don't know exactly why, I'm just afraid he'll be too forthcoming with personal info (as many are)

What I probably dislike the most about FB is their constant changes. Constant. Changes. Drives me crazy. If it's not broken, don't fix it!

Just when you think you know how most stuff works, they alter it, and not for the better in many cases.

We won't allow our son to make a FB acct until his 13th birthday either. Mainly for reasons you stated, but also b/c technically you have to be 13 or older to have a FB acct anyway. I see people out there (family members included) that have let their 8/9/10 year old children open one, and I think that's crazy. Children that age aren't mature enough to know the difference between "good people" and "bad people", especially in an online environment where they can't visibly see "bad"...you know? What if some pervert pretended to be a child of the same age to befriend them, then get personal information or pictures from them? Or even worse, talk to them about bad stuff?? Maybe I'm paranoid, but I worry about stuff like that and their are age restrictions on FB for a reason.

I don't like that they analyze the content in my profile and in my posts to decide which ads to offer on the right hand side. It's scary that they have that information.

I never noticed that. Maybe because I never look at the ads.

I really enjoy Facebook. I am poor at the normal means of communication so Facebook means I can keep up with all my friends without actually talking to them

I have always been good at dog training but just got a cat. Any suggestion on where I could learn for cats.
Your local grocery store on up collects that info... including your internet provider which never tells you about the tracking

LOVE facebook!

We all have accounts (me, hubby, son) and I am the admin of our local humane society's fan page, and our houseduck is a popular girl, so she has her own page as well. (she even posts on it from time to time
)

I don't like the constant changes, and all the game "stuff" but I have the majority of them blocked.

You can do that?
I don't really hate game requests but I just don't have the time to play.
I like FB to help me get in touch with long lost friends. In fact, one of them I have not seen for 20 years.

Playing with Jazzy & Ginga.
I love that you can see old friends and such but I really hate the games and, like others have said, I block all game requests. A very good website to organise events with old friends and with family and keep in touch though.

I don't have a facebook account. My sisters are addicted. I hear them talking about it. From what they say, my conclusion is that people tell too much stuff on there. I hear them talking about who is on vacation, where they went, when they are coming back. They post a lot of pictures out there. I am just paranoid, I guess. I don't want my pictures on the internet.
I am already in touch by telephone or email with everyone I care about. This is the only forum I participate in.

Regarding the games. I find the requests really annoying, but not because I don't like them. I just don't have time and my internet really is too slow to load them. Maybe when I'm having a holiday I will have time for them
