In that first pic, you can see it's cloudy.

In perusing pics for Spooky's gotcha day thread, I found a lot more "laser beam" pictures. I noticed a number of them that have one eye reflecting and one eye not, so I'm sure that it's not only when there's a problem with the eye (and not sure the one eye reflecting is because of the problem, but don't know).

No kidding!

I think some of it has to do with the camera, too. The one I used to take that pic - it seems that during the time I had that camera a lot more of the pictures have laser beam eyes.

How's this for eyeshine?
I think we've got pinkish, green, and "regular."

Okay, who's in charge of the calendar contests for next year. We really need a Spooky Eyes theme for October.

I was so mezmerized by those eyes I wouldn't have noticed the carpet if you hadn't mentioned it!
It is brilliant!

It also looks like the flash is making it look worse than it is - like when you go through your home with a black light.

Yeah, I was thinking it really must have something to do with the camera too.
Glad we had the money back then for Gary to get me a new one!

Now that you mention it...I did get a new camera for Christmas, and all of the blue reflections I've got have been since I started using it. I never got them with my old one. That must be it.

Well I must say I like the blue reflections I'm getting on occasion now over THAT photo of the gang!

These threads are great, because we get to post all the pics we wouldn't otherwise!

Fun too!
Thanks for asking about it, Kara!

I almost thought I didn't have any uploaded already, or even that many. I try to avoid using flash as much as possible, especially on Sherman. Even the high end cameras and professional photographers had a lot of trouble getting pictures of his blue eyes without the red/orange eye reflection.

Baby Tanna's eyes reflecting green. Her eyes are gold.

If I used flash on Siri I get no eyes and the most terrible looking scrunched up kitty face out of her, then she runs out of the room. Which is the other reason I avoid using the flash as much as possible.

Oh look at Tanna's eyes!

I ALWAYS forget to use those small pictures you can click on to make big - that's so cool, and convenient for people with limited bandwidth.

These are GREAT! The group shot is just down right scary! LOL

Blue, my only blue-eyed cat, always reflects red. Rex's eyes almost always shine green or yellow. Chloe's shine blue or yellow depending on the angle of the camera. My dog's eyes are brown and they reflect violet!
