Happy Anniversary, Gary

Our first date was 31 years and 2 months ago. I was 17. We dated 1 1/2 years until I left for college - a Quaker College. You left for the Israeli Army. 12 years later, you looked me up, just a few months before my parents moved from the home in which I grew up. Thank you for finding me again. I'm sorry I made you wait so long.

I'm not a poet. As Rumi says, "However much we describe and explain love, when we fall in love we are ashamed of our words."

Rumi also says "With thee, my love, hell itself were heaven." Gary's "heaven" is a living hell. "Thank you, Gary," seems such a paltry thing to say for the suffering you must endure to be by my side each day.

Ooops - hopefully a mod will move this to the right forum.

Happy anniversary to you both. My wish for you is that some way, some how, a cure can be found for Gary. I just don't understand why such wonderful people have to suffer. I will never get it. I can only hope, and wish you many more years together, PAIN FREE!

Thanks all! We're snuggled in for the coming blizzard. It is coming down fast and furious and snow was already on the road by the time we were heading home. We may have not gotten bread, but we got a small chocolate cake into the cart before Gary had his panic attack about the length of the lines.

We did get sugar and butter in the cart - I was going to make brownies at some point. But I forgot altogether we're out of baker's chocolate. So good we got the cake!

Laurie, your post is so sweet. Lucky you and lucky Gary, to have found each other again. Wishing you decades and decades of love, and good health for Gary.
