How cold is it where you are?

It got down to -13°C (8.6°F) last night, and is currently -9°C (16°F). DH was afraid the car (diesel) wouldn't start this morning, but it did. Would you believe he had the balcony door in the bedroom open all night? I swear he's part polar bear!

Wow, that's coooold! Here in Dallas it's 34, but it will get down to 28F tonight...

About 15-20 degrees around our town at the moment
post #7 of 96
We are currently at -9°C (16°F). Lucky Pierre just begged to go outside to do his business, and came back to the door within a few minutes. I would love to have 20C here right now.
It's -19°C (-2.2F) and snowing like crazy.
We had about -8 last night and was -5 when I got up this morning but it is a high +3 here at the moment. I really do wish it would warm up a bit though it seems to be going on for far to long now and I do worry about the animals.

I notice none of the Australians or New Zealanders have posted...

My outdoor thermometer says 28 degrees F, and it's pretty accurate.
It's 31ºF (-0.5ºC) out right now. With snow.

We're having a "heat wave" here recently - the highs have been slightly around or over freezing, and the lows have only been 16F to 18F (-9 to -7.8).

These temps are normal for January, but it's been colder than this since early on in November. It's not usually as cold as it's been.
Cold enough! At least we didn't have snow on Christmas this year!

According to my WeatherBug, it was 23º overnight and currently 29º.

Oh, stop pretending - I know you wish you could help us shovel snow today!

Here, it's 30 degrees F/-1 C. Not too bad. Unfortunately, though, that big storm LDG mentioned is headed my way, and it's going to be a big one if the forecasters are correct. I don't have too much to do today, but I feel sorry for holiday travelers and people who have to work!

Weather liar said -9°C but I never heard the windchill, probably down to -20 or more as the wind is making the tree branches wave and the whitecrap is moving pretty good.

Yup! I got snow for Christmas! Going to be fun driving back home in it.... it's also flurrying where I live down in S. Carolina - no sticky though. But the weather report for a week from now says it's going to be 71ºF on New Year's Day

I wouldn't know where to start. I'm glad I live somewhere where the most snow we get is a tiny snow shower that lasts for a few minutes. I am very fortunate.

We're not having winter this year in the Denver area though the mountains have tons of snow. Today it is a balmy 48F (8C).
Mild and wet here in Vancouver -- in the 9-10 range (C) so 50-ish F.

Do you ever go into the mountains to see the snow? Sometimes the snow here can be very beautiful, but if I had the chance to move to a warmer clime, I doubt I'd miss it very much!

Friends on the East coast, stay safe until the roads are clear!

Oh yeah I often see the snow on the way to cat shows and such but I don't make a special trip for it. I think I like where we live we don't really get any extreme temperatures here, it's usually just mild. It doesn't go above 25 degrees often and I don't think it goes below 0 zero very often either.
Right now its 25F (-4C). About normal this time of year though the local weather forecast says 36F Thur/43F Fri/28F Sat.

Thank you....was not sure of my calculations.

Right now we have snow and lots of it. It might be an official blizzard by tomorrow.
28F at the moment - with about 6 inches of snow.

It's -6 C this morning with snow flurries. The neighbors across the way have over 20 cm of snow on the flat roof of their over 40-year-old garage. I wonder if the roof is going to hold?
