Can I ask a favor?

I would surely appreciate this favour

Would ya'll be so kind as to spread a little kindness today, whether it be a smile at a stranger and a good wish, or paying for someones coffee, or anything....

Saying happy holidays to someone who looks down, offering to help an elderly person to their car, giving a coworker a hug, buy a homeless person a coffee/donut, donate to the salvation army red kettle, buy a toy and donate it, any random act of kindness...

Just do something kind today that you don't normally do.

Please

One little step at a time will make this world a better place.

The holiday season is so hard on MANY people, a little extra effort to be kind would help so much...... Holidays bring with them a flood of emotion, depression, hurt, tears, happiness, sadness, laughter, loneliness, etc. etc.

Just think, if everyone reading this does something kind, how amazing of an affect that would have. Even if only 1 person does it, you'll make 2 people happy ( the person you were kind to, and me ).

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you know you're loved.

This is a great request and very thoughtful of you. I will do it and I know that many if not all of the TCS's members will do it also.

Thank you that we all can make someone else smile today.

Ah, Chris. I do that sort of stuff anyway... not bragging, but I strongly believe in random acts of kindness. Not only did I donate to the Red Kettle, but when the weather here was SO nasty and cold... I went in and got the bell ringer a hot chocolate. I do that every year.

And it is truly sad that some view kindness and compassion as a weakness.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Same here. I cooked meals for my neighbour across the hall when his wife was in hospital and for both of them when she came home as one example. It's part of my nature to do these things and selfish on my part as it makes me feel better. My SO says I spread myself too thin trying to help too many people but I need to do it for me.

This is heartfelt advice and you touched my heart. I will do whatever I can today to help another in the spirit of this holiday season. It would not just make two people happy but three since we who gave the help would be very happy also.

I hope to be able to do something today! Right now I am stuck at work, but hopefully I will get outta here soon and can make someone happy on my home to the family!

That's a great idea Chris, and the perfect sentiment for this time of year as everyone seems so stressed.

Fabulous idea, Chris! I've been doing those little random acts of kindness quite a bit lately; it always makes me feel really good afterward.

I always love your reminders to commit random acts of kindness! And Even when we're completely broke, in Winter we travel with coffee and tea (in thermoses) and thermal (paper) cups (with tops) so we can give people working outside something hot - be it the policeman directing traffic (today), parking lot attendant (today), or bell ringers collecting donations (today). (In the summer we travel with lots of extra bottles of water).

I didn't see this until now, but I did help someone out today at work. There was a customer wearing a Vietnam War Vet hat and wandering around looking rather sad. When I asked him if I could help him, he just said that he came to the store to look around and destress - apparently home improvement things bring him comfort.

So it took a bit of subtle coaxing, but I got him to talk for a while about things he liked to do, good memories of things he had made over the years, and after a while his talk became very animated and he started to smile a lot.

He came in depressed, and at least for a brief moment, I distracted him and brought some happiness to his day. I hope it took some time to wear off.
