Scabs

My 8 year old siemese cat has 2 severe scabs on her neck. She became more of an out-doors cat when i got twin siemese kittens so she gets into fights with the many strays often. I pick off most of her scabs easily but these 2 aren't coming of and i'm worried they might be infected or something. Please help me!

It would be great if you could bring her back in. The strays carry all kinds of diseases that could be so very easily transmitted to her.

Does she have her shots? Is she spayed? It does not seem fair to bannish her to the outdoors for the two new kitties. She needs to be properly introduced to them and regain her happy home before they arrived. She was there first.

Bites can fester and become abcesses. Then there is infection and the cat can become very sick. I don't know what these scabs sre from, a broken open abcess? Likely from fighting like you say. Also, feline aids, feline leukemia, feline infectious peritonitis, rabies are just a few of the nasty things she can get. Just by one bite.

I can't stress enough, please bring her in. I can't imagine putting my established kitty outside for 2 newcomers. They very well could be infected...so a vet visit is the only advice I can give you. She is in danger out there. You obviously care about her or you wouldn't come here for help.

The help she needs is to be inside and away from the dangers of the other cats, cars, people, animals. She deserves her home back.
