Please pray for my niece

My husband just called me and told me that my two year old niece had a seizure about 20 minutes ago and they can't get her to respond at all. She was rushed to the children's hospital, but we haven't heard anything more. If you do that kind of thing, please pray for her and her father, mother, and sister. Thank you.

Yes, praying - for her medical caregivers, for her mommy, daddy, and sister - and for her recovery.

It is good that she is responding - please do keep us in the loop as much as you can.

Blessings,
Gloria

She bounced back and did so well, they are on their way home now. The prayers worked. Thank you so much everyone, we are very relieved she is going home. *sigh*

the power of prayer

are you able to share any details of what happened - does she have an on-going medical issue ?

just curious - but, not pushing

so glad that she'll be home for the holidays!

I'm glad she's on the way home. Did they figure out the reason for the fever? Temps that high will induce seizures, so it's probably an isolated incident.

Yeah, she was sent home from daycare with a fever today, she has been fighting a bug for a few days. Otherwise she's a perfectly healthy normal little girl. My BIL was one of the EMTs that showed up there and he and my SIL said they had her dressed in multiple heavy layers. I think it was probably just a febrile seizure and it just took her a bit to come back around.

Thanks again everyone!!!

Glad to read she is ok that it was only an isolated incident and it doesn't happen again

Oh my goodness, I am so glad she is ok. Kids sometimes when they get a bad fever and a very high temperature have a seizure, its the bodys way of trying to bring the temperature down naturally. This happened to a friend of mines son and it happened in the school playground it was so scary but he bounced back so quickly. Kids are amazing. I am just so pleased she is ok.xx

Glad she is Ok. My youngest daughter is 7. She gets fibrile seizures if her temp gets over 102. She has had several in the last few days. She has been running a temp of 103-104 for 5 days. She is on antibiotics, tylenol and motrin every 4 hours.

Yeah, my nephew (her cousin) used to get febrile seizures a lot at her age, so I think it's a familial thing. She seems to be doing fine today. Thanks again everyone!

That's good to hear. My son had a seizure two years ago - he was nine. The seizure lasted less than a minute and he woke up as the paramedics came. The case of your niece seems more serious. My son has not had a seizure since.
