I have a five year old female persian. Her fur gets very long, about 3 inches in length. When her coat is full grown she is miserable, won't groom herself properly and gets very stinky. So every six months I take her in for a "lion cut." It looks very cute on her and she is much happier and active when her coat is shorter.
I recently moved to Los Angeles and cannot seem to find a good groomer. In fact, this last experience was the worst. Her back paws were bloody and raw due to her apparently clawing the cage while waiting for her trim. The groomer insisted the paws would heal on their own within a couple weeks.
Well, 4 weeks later they still have scabbing and bleed when I rinse then with water.
Needless to say I am furious they haven't healed as promised and she is going to see her vet tomorrow. It is at the point that I do not trust any groomer and never want to take her to any grooming business ever again. My boyfriend insists we should still try to find a good groomer, since she is much happier when her coat is short, but it is not worth it to me.
Has anyone had an experience in which your pet came home from the groomer with a bloody paw, one that won't heal? I feel like confronting the groomer about it, but feel like they will defend themselves so it would be of no use, the damage is alreay done.
