I have one like that, it's got a child safety on it since I had an incident way back when of my then 2yr old taking one of my pills because they looked similiar to her nausea pills. Thankfully she was ok, and I had kept the pills in a container so I could tell the Emerg how many of what she took.
I take multiple meds a day, and need the 4/day + an additional container with just one compartment per day.

As others have suggested, get a weekly or monthly pill organizer and set out your pills at the start of each month for each day. That's what I do and I know at a glance if I have taken that days medications or not. Not to mention it's easy to just grab the pill box and put it into a bag if you need to go away for a few days.

I agree wholeheartedly.
Unfortunately I learned the hard way, and it only took once. Most of my meds don't double well, but thankfully not harmfully either but if I don't take them I enter withdrawal fairly quickly on my anxiety meds, hence taking just once

.
They also play havoc on my memory, hence the pill reminder. I find I'm on more and more medications and my memory is shot...for my safety and everyone elses I need to remember.
PLUS, if I have to go to hospital, whomever can grab my pill case, which I slip a piece of paper from my drugstore in the back of, that has my current meds.
I have this one:

as my main one, plus one like this for my larger tablets and I place 4-6 tabs in each compartment which is my daily dosage.

and LOL, I got another just recently as sometimes the red one is hard for my poor hands to open so I picked up a different one but its more of a pain that anything BUT I do like how I can pop out a days worth and throw it in my purse rather than taking the red container.

well worth the money... Meds shouldn't be taken lightly IMO. If I can't remember, then I wait for the symptoms of withdrawal to start. (only happens if I am out and forgot to bring my container)
I'd highly recommend the red one to anyone.
