I need some help please... I have a 3 yr old cat with mega e. So basically she can eat no hard food and only patte canned. She has been on everything imaginable (well almost) since I got her. At the moment she on Wellness - all different kinds because she is either spoiled or it bothers her throat or stomach to eat the same thing more than a day or two in a row.
As an example, she didn't eat but a tablespoon of food for the last 24 hrs because for whatever reason she didn't want Wellness Turkey so I open a can of Wellness Trout and she puts her nose up to that also. Last night I tried Natural Life and she ate that no problem. Now this morning she turns her nose up at it. I get home from work try to give her Natural Life and no go. I can tell she's hungry but she will not eat it. Could she be experiencing something like heartburn and is there something I can add to her food as a supplement?

Or any food suggestions would appreciated. I can tell she's hungry but she will not give in and eat what I put down for her. Can this be that she's spoiled? I will take her to the vet right after xmas. I have the week off. Thanks

Julie

That's odd. I'm not sure what to do, but The vet is the answer, Do you already have the appointment booked after Christmas? You should try going before Christmas [just in case it get's worst or anything]

I have a feeling other members who post will have a more helpful answer though. Good luck with your cat.

I do know some cats don't like food once it's been in the fridge. Could that be why? Our cat just doesn't like canned food. She will eat it one time and I think she will start liking it and then that is it she won't eat anymore. Some cats do not like canned at all.

I don't know anything about what your cat has but I do know when we got our kitten she was very sick and wouldn't eat anything but when we took her to the vet they gave her prescription food and she LOVED it and it was canned so maybe she needs something like that?

Poor kitty hope you get it figured out soon.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sharky - help me out, you ask what size can I've ben trying. I guess I would never think the size mattered except leftovers of course. I've tried all sizes. At the moment 12.5 Wellness, 5.5 Natural Life, 12.5 Innova couple days ago. For a while I even had her eating Friskies. They have so many different varities and if she didn't want one I could just open another flavor and it wouldnt be that big of deal cost wise. I thought maybe if I kept her on better brands maybe she would gain some weight, her coat would improve and she wouldn't need to eat as much. None of that has happened and she's getting pickier and pickier. I just thought maybe someone here would have on insight on mega e and maybe have a couple suggestions. Sedona's had accupuncture and that helped with the vomiting but she has some serious issues getting food down. There is no way she would ever even eat a 5.5oz can in its entirety. 1 meal that is it. The rest goes to the other cats or in the garbage. Could she be spoiled? I certainly understand when you say she has to eat but its been like this since I got her 2 years ago and I wonder if this is the nature of the disease rearing its ugly head.

many foods are cooked in the cans others are finished in the cans.. thus for many cats smaller cans taste better ... ie try maybe a 3 oz can
