Do you ever wonder what they are thinking?

I mean your cats. I am one of those people whose mind is always turning its wheels. I sit and think for hours on end sometimes even when I am doing things I am about halfway day dreaming and I tend to think out what I am going to say to people and sometimes I do and sometimes I don't which is probably for the best. I have always been like that an I am a very observant person and I sit and take in whole area and I just wondered what my cat thinks about. I do feel like they think things out because cats are much more conscious of their area than dogs are and you can see they are thinking when they are stalking their prey. But I wonder if they think about us and I wonder if dogs and cats understand each other because sometimes they can be truly good friends. So what do you think. Other than that I might be a bit silly

I always wonder what my cats are thinking. I'm sure they wonder why we do the things we do: like why are the humans washing the dishes, when they have perfectly good tongues? Luna is always watching us do the dishes, I'm positive that thought has crossed her mind.

always.
I tell my DH I wish that for just one day...my cats could talk to me and we could have a converstation. LOL or that I could read their minds and see what goes on in those kitty brains of theirs. Usually DH responds that i need to take up a new hobby or go back to school

I'm always wondering what Autumn is thinking especially when she seems to be staring at something and nothing is there, what does she see and what the heck is she thinking. I do sometimes know what she is thinking when she is about to jump on the couch, she sits there and looks at where she wants to jump, then she does. Other than that I have no idea what she is thinking. Of course we all know when they want to eat or have a treat, circling our legs tells us that :-)))

Yes I sometimes wonder what's going on in those little cat brains? I heard human twins can sometimes "just know" what the other's thinking. I wonder if cat siblings have that telepathic bond? I assume my cats miss one of our past houses, the one with the big sunny outdoor space and critters (squirrels, pretty birds, fireflies). They really liked that house a lot. I bet Penny thinks "Why'd we move from there? It was nice!"

I do ALL the time!!
Many of you know that Holland is a bit of a scaredy cat, and she doesn't necessarily like to be picked up and cuddled, but she will humor me sometimes. There are days where I just need to hold her and love her, and I just pick her up and snuggle my face into her lovely soft fur...
Bless her, she puts up with it, but she always looks at me like "what the heck are you doing?!?", and she always looks like she's just ready to dart off somewhere.
And I ask her "where is it that you think you need to be?" She just has this look on her face like, "C'mon, mom... I've got more important things to do right now..."

Funny story - as many of you know, I'm living with my mom, sister, BIL and their 3 kids at the moment, so quiet time is like a luxury in our house. They were all out the other night, so I put the dog to bed so Holland would feel safe to come upstairs. We were hanging out, watching TV when everyone got home. My nieces were the first to come in, and they saw Holland and said hi to her and all... Then there was this moment where I could see the wheels turning in her head, like she was trying to figure out how she could get back downstairs safely. The family room, where we were, is off the kitchen - which has hardwood floors AND the door to the basement where we live. She finally decided to just make a run for it, and completely skidded around the corner making the turn to get back downstairs...
My nephew was laughing so hard, he said it was like watching a cartoon where her feet were moving but she wasn't going anywhere. Poor little thing... But I know she's getting better because she doesn't run away anymore when my family is near her. She doesn't want them to TOUCH her, but she won't run away from the people she recognizes. Small victories, I guess. And, she let my 1 1/2 year old niece pet her yesterday...
Awesome.

Oh yes, I would love them to talk to me, it would be fun. My mum makes voices for her cats

I've often wondered whether they think we go out hunting when we leave the house, especially when we come home with groceries. I rarely use the car because I commute by train - does Jamie think I go to the vets' when he sees me getting in the car and driving off?

Yeah, I noticed that my cats are always very concerned and want to watch when I use the restroom.

They probably think I have a UTI due to my litterbox avoidance. Poor human.

In all honesty though, animals are pretty easy to figure out. They wanna play, they wanna go places, and they want food. Women are the confusing creatures.

Sometimes I wonder what my cats are thinking....

But most of the time, I just wonder IF they're thinking
They sure do act like they shut their brains off sometimes....

Y'know those dignified, 'better than you' attitudes that cats tend to have? None of my goofballs are that 'proper'. Not a one. I'm pretty sure they're dogs, actually. Dumb dogs. Dumb dogs that meow. And go in litterboxes. And like catnip. But dogs just the same.
