Thank you everyone!! It's mine, Alix doesn't admit to having any birthdays anymore (pssst...she'll be 10 in late August).

Hissy - my road trip is deferred a day, turns out a shipment due last Friday, is coming today, and I have to be here to get it (can't have the KK disappear....image of neighborhood cats joining forces to drag one huge box away from the ups man and over under the bushes)

Happy Birthday Pat!!

And the thought of a whole herd of kitties pulling a smash and grab on the UPS guy for the Kitty Kaviar just give me the giggles like you wouldn't beleive!

Have a fantastic day!!!

Thanks again everyone for the birthday wishes...what a nice surprise!
Our road trip did finally take place and it was wonderful...stopped at a lavender farm in Sequim, got onto a not so public road by mistake while seeking a looping road that exists (somewhere) around Cape Flattery, so husband got to turn his chevy s-10 into a "hummer for a day"...talk about narrow, steep grade, rutted, washed out with boulders in the middle dirt "roads". I'm amazed we made it back down!

The best was the main intended stop...ruby beach at low tide. We spent 1 1/2 hours walking the beach, checking out the tidal pools, photographing starfish, anemones, mussels and ?barnacles, rock stacks, birds, a great sunset. My husband ended up with 150 shots, 30 of which were good enough for a webshots album, and maybe 6 of which I feel are near to or equal to professional quality and which we'll print out and frame.

t'was a wonderful birthday (not the least of which is because he gave me "practicals and sparklies" as presents
