About a week ago we got about 8-10 inches, It was so windy its quite variable in depth. The local snowmobile trails are not open due to this. Tonite we are supposed to get another 3-6 inches then actually a bit of a warmup to 30F tomorrow. So maybe some ice as well (yuck!).

There has been snow on the ground for the last 3 weeks. It's snowing now, and will all night and into the morning. It may ruin my plans to drive 20 miles to take my very elderly mother on some errands tomorrow.

The forecast says snow "showers" on Christmas Eve (and Christmas), which will be very picturesque and appropriate. However, I have to take my cat, Lily, to and from the vet's - 20 miles each way (80 miles in all) that day. So, it's not good for me.

Those photos in France are spectacular. But you are not really used to this, right? And the Finnish photos - beyond words. So lovely.

I love and hate snow. When I was young I skied constantly - even picking a university in a town in Montana with 2 ski areas nearby. I skied twice a week on average. And then I took up cross-country skiing and did that for many years - in the mountains, and going to resorts just for that in northern Wisconsin. But now, I have a long, long, driveway, and I am sick of getting up at 4 a.m. to get out so I can get to work. I hired someone to help with it this year. I fear driving in it, and the altogether hassle of it all. It's a pity. I still think it is beautiful.

WOW! Beautiful pictures, but I certainly wouldn't want to get out and about in it.

Living in Texas, we don't get a lot of snow, but last year we got the snowfall of the century or some such thing. It snowed for 24 hours straight. I have never been so sick of snow in all my life! I don't know how you folks who live in snow country do it.

Classes are supposed to start in 15 minutes, and I'm the only person in the entire building. I probably should have listened to the radio before leaving the house at 6:15 a.m.! Maybe some people will trickle in.

So, this is my house this morning:

Down my street in each direction:

Little evergreens in the backyard:

It was only about 4 inches of new snow, but it is drizzling and freezing ice on the roads. So, I'm staying home today. Just came in from shoveling.

Holly through the snow (12 holly bushes around front and one side of house):

Little hemlocks off the back porch, drowning in snow:

The weather is so much of the world has been crazy the last few years.
This is usual for here, though.

So lets see yours
Wonderful Snow you have in your Area. Sadly the last snowfall was on Sunday, it was wonderful snow to play in, but the snow from Sunday is still here, and its all frozen and yellow, you can't really play with it. But it sure is cold. We hit -18 on Thursday! Brr.

Gosh that's all so beautiful. We have no snow here, and I'm bummed. However, just west of us, in the mountains, they are getting FEET of snow right now!

Snow? What's that?
You mean that white stuff that falls here every 10-15 years? Seriously, the last time it snowed here and actually stuck was Jan 1999, almost 12 years ago. It snowed about 4-6 inches then.

All we are getting is rain, rain and more rain! Many streets are flooded. I have dubbed a section of the work parking lot "Lake ACS" because of the water. I was talking to one of the big bosses about it after work. He said they were gonna stock it with fish, so we could all do some fishing!

I wish it would snow here at least one time on Christmas. I would love to have a White Christmas. I want it to start snowing Thursday night and not stop until Christmas morn! I am off Friday.

Forgot to post these earlier. Bad quality and resized them totally random..

Those first two were taken last month while I was walking home from the grocery store, and this last was taken today when there was actually a sun to be seen. Sorry, no fancy landscapes on my way home..

I'm sure we can all arrange to mail you some snow. Hate for you to feel left out.

We got a fresh shot overnight after it had almost all melted.

That's like our boys. They still want to go out, but when we open the door they tend to stand there deliberating an unreasonably long time.
