Howdy All,

I'm back from my trip which turned out to be really good and really bad. I'm exhausted so I'm going to keep this short. First the good news!I brought home 2 kitties.

#1) Henrietta is close to the same color as Peaches. A little more of an apricot color. She was shaved recently so she doesn't have much fur right now! But she is a cutie. They said she is about 5 years old but she acts like a kitten. Very playful and runs back and forth playing all night! Henrietta is very friendly and loving.

The second is a calico persian. I have to rename her because her previous owners gave her a weird name (Zummy). I'm thinking about Missy Hissy!
She was just brought to the rescure on Wednesday and is very unsure what is going on. Whenever you get near her all she does is hiss!
Thus, the name! M.A. I hope you wouldn't mind! It's not for sure yet. Little missy is a GORGEOUS kitty! And I think I can bring her around. She is just scared right now. Liz took her from a humane socitey. They said she was very docile and loving until they took her to a mall to show to 10 million people. She freaked out and hissed constantly so they deemed her unadoptable. Stupid people. Poor little girl was scared out of her mind, is all. I will send pics as soon as I can.

The bad news: The reason I just got home is because my car pretty much blew up 100 miles south of Salt Lake City. It's a 2000 Daewoo. I just had the oil changed 6 days ago at Walmart and it went bone dry without any warning. I'm sick. So so sick. I don't know what I will do. I certainly don't have money to fix it. So it's sitting 100 miles away. I called 911 at 6:00pm and sat on the freeway until 9:30 pm. Finally my daughter got there to pick me and the kitties up. It didn't help Missy Hissy any to be stuck sitting in the pet carrier that much longer. God I've had it tonight.

I brought the cats in and put them directly in one of my spare rooms. Peaches is camping outside the door. I'm giving her lots of love and will cuddle with her in bed tonight.

Anyway, I need to go finish settling in. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Tammie

I am sorry to hear about your car blowing up! And I don't mind about the name, after all it was the name of one of my feral kittens...
Get some rest! Congrats on the two kitties!

Hissy you made me laugh! Thanks, I needed that!

Suraya, yes I need lots-o-board magic please.

I love my new kitties though. They're sweet.

when my daughter was driving us home, her friend she brought with her asked her what a sound was that her car was making. She laughed and said, wouldn't it suck if my car broke down now? I very quickly replied that if it did I was going to jump out of the car onto the freeway! LOL. Of course I was kidding..... sort of.

Thanks Kellye. This morning I went in and played with Henrietta. She is doing fabulously. I couldn't find Little Missy. She is hiding in some corner in the spare room. I'll look a little closer for her once I wake up a bit more.

Peaches isn't camping out at the door anymore!
Guess she lost interest. At least for now!

Sorry to hear about your car. That must have been a long 3 1/2 hours stuck in the car until someone could fetch you.

Henrietta sounds lovely and MissyHissy, as you say, just needs some peace and space and I am sure that she will settle in just fine.

Congrats on the new additions! I'm sure you're right about Missy. She sounds like she's just had too much trauma for her little life at this point. Put on some classical music on low volume, turn the lights down low (no, this isn't to get her all romantic! LOL), and give her some time to decompress. Henrietta sounds like a real doll already.

So sorry to hear about your car.
Be sure to tell whoever looks at your car about the recent oil change. Almost sounds like someone didn't put the oil plug back on properly, and if that's the case - Wal Mart owes you a new engine!

Glad to know you are safe and sound and that the new additional furbabies are adjusting. Miss Hissy is a cute name but maybe we should say Miss Hiss just to rhyme?

Yep! I went to the AZ persian rescue. Liz runs it and she is the one I've been in contact with the last month or so. She got these two kitties from the AZ humane society so they wouldn't put them down.

Liz and her hubby invited me to stay in their travel trailer next to their house. It was very comfortable and I got to have all the kitties I was interested in, spend the night with me. So I got to play a little bit.

Liz and her husband are from England and are lovely people. I had a nice visit with them. They have a houseful of cats and a few dogs! I think I have made some life long friends with Liz and her hubby!

Thanks! I keep going in the room to play with Henrietta. She is a ball! Missy HIssy rhymes too, doesn't it? My brain is so fogged right now I can't think! Well, the name isn't official yet. But I can't think about it right at the moment.

Glad you got your kitties! Sorry about your car though. Sounds to me like someone forgot to put the oil plug thing back in or put in on too loose on the bottom of the car and the oil leaked out. If so I would make them pay for a new engine too. Or maybe they didnt put enough in it or something. I would be soo mad and look into the possibility of them making a mistake at the oil change place. Good luck!
