I've dealt with several cat rescues in the past few years. Most are on eBay, where they raise funds by selling items. I buy items from them, and make monetary donations, and also buy litter and food coupons for them to use.

A couple of years ago, I asked one on eBay if they could use some items to sell. They said yes, and I made sure they were things they could sell on eBay. I even bought items (cat calendars, jewelry, etc.) to throw in with the stuff I already had: a beautiful, silver-plated free-standing vanity mirror, a silver-plated jewelry box, etc. They were sacrifices: even though I hardly ever used them, they were gifts that I loved. I parted with them as I did not really need them, they were in brand-new condition, and I wanted to help the cats, so I gave them up. I also spent over $30 in postage to send 2 boxes of stuff. I asked the person if they got them; she said her secretary had said something about boxes arriving at the post office for her to pick up. I never heard anything later, and I never saw the items for sale (I still check, even 2 years later).

Another place (not on eBay) wanted weight circles from dry cat food. I sent them a couple of times, but then, the last batch (and I double-checked the address) was returned, "Undeliverable". At least I was only out a stamp or 2.

Today, I had canned cat food coupons (which expire 12/31) returned as undeliverable. I had also sent them, a few days before, some free litter coupons (which I paid about $10 for on eBay, but each was worth up to $20 or something, so I felt it was worth it to buy them for the shelter). I'm wondering where THOSE are! And I did double-check the address; I had saved her emails, in which she gave me her address. It's also the one on their website. (They are not a bricks and mortar shelter.) They have excellent feedback on eBay, and are still selling items (and I've recently gotten items with that address on the envelope). Any ideas what could be going on???? It's a P.O. box, BTW, if that helps.

I really like being able to help shelters, and I do understand they are volunteer-staffed, and people have day jobs, too, but this just annoys me.

Thanks!

It could just be another scam and that is a shame. You're better off helping your local pet shelters, at least you know where everything went. Sorry you had to lose some precious stuff.
