It says the humping isn't necessarily sexual, it could be attention-seeking, and the best advice is to give your cat extra attention, especially when he gets in those moods. Try to distract him with attention so he doesn't start hunmping anything.

Funny you say that, I was thinking the same thing when I had a female cat a few years ago that would do odd things to get attention.
Although the "behaviour specialist" told me to give attention only on your own term, in some sort of routines... and play properly.. not just when it sort "falls" into your own feel like it to =D.. dont mean you not playing.. just saying sometimes life gets into our daily ways and they sometimes look fine.
but have a moment everyday when cuddle and when playing and when you cant, you cant... and when he does the things you dont approve, walk away.
Do not pay attention to what he is doing, if he doing it to you.. stand up and walk away... if he stops... give him a treat, and play with him with one of his own toys.
