My kitties are a little pudgy, in order of dominance almost. The two dominant kitties are fat and the submissive one is just pudgy. Hugin = 15.5 lbs (1lb or so overweight), Munin = ~14.8 lbs (he's the one who's okayish), and Cara = 12 or 13 lbs (super fat). Hugin and Munin are huge Maine Coon mixes who should be around 14 lbs and Cara is a tiny domestic shorthair that needs to be about 7 lbs.

Question: How can I help them?

Cara gets a little less than 1/3 cup of food, Hugin and Munin get 2/3 cup. Is that too much? Its dry food, I forget the brand off the top of my head, and that's what the bag says for the weights they should be.

They are fed twice a day, half of the total amount each time. But they're sneaky! They've stopped gobbling up to the food when I set it down and they eat each other's food. Any advice there? They each get their own bowl and they've lost a little weight since I did that. Even though Cara doesn't like the other cats and they're scared of her, they all want to eat in the same room.

I feed them Nutro Max for adults. Its not the best, but I think its better than some.

My vet recommended to feed them separately, which I did. And not to leave food down. That was just a few months ago and they did lose a little weight but it just wasn't enough.

I was just wondering if there was any special measures I should be taking to feed multiple cats. This is my first time with cats that have formed their own pecking order like this lol

How much are you feeding them?

WHat weight does the vet say they should be ?

Do you feed any wet food?

I only have two cats so its not an issue yet, but a buddy has seven, and its hard to have a life if you're doing multiple feedings a day seperately.

I'd recommend Multivet Slimcat food balls:
http://www.amazon.com/MultiVet-SlimC...3664441&sr=8-1

You simply pop the cap off, scoop it into your bag of kibble, and put the balls on the ground. They push these around, and a couple kibble fall out each time.

This slows and tends to reduce the amount they eat compared to a bowl of chow that they can just bury their faces in and inhale. Also great for cats that aren't fat but tend to vomit from eating too fast.

Don't forget that wet is good for hydration, has less fillers, and is naturally less calorie dense since its close to 80% water. I'd feed that morning and night, and it should curb their appetite or kibble some as well.

And of course don't forget, just like with people its diet AND exercise.
