Hello

I have a cat who is about 6-7 months old and yesterday she started throwing up this orange looking liquid stuff and I didn't see her eat anything. Well I havent seen her throw up today but she still hasnt eaten. I even tried to give her some turkey meat which she would normally devour and she didn't even care about it. She normally is trying to find anything she can to eat always on my counter and things like that. Now she is just very quiet been sleeping not interested in anything I try to give her food wise.

Is there anything I can do for her. I have tried asking a vet but they wont tell me anything over the phone and I dont have the hundreds of dollars to take her to the vet. I dont know of one who will take payments or work with me or anything. I have also tried calling humane societies etc but they always take messages through a voicemail service and say they'll call back within 24 hours.

I am just worried and I hope someone on here can help me out. Any help given is much appreciated.

Thanks

This is a kitten, and things can get really badly really quickly... Please take her to the vet now, during the day time while this doesn't become a night time emergency - THEN it will cost you a lot. She can have eaten something and she might be blocked. the fact that she is lethargic and no longer eating is not good at all...
Your vet will work with you... You can also apply for carecredit online or on the vet's office and use it immediately to finance the bill...

Throwing up bile can be a not-so-good sign. I've seen it when my cat had a blockage after eating a string. There are vets that charge less that hundreds of dollars for just a visit. They may be able to tell things just with an exam. My vet is sort of a large animal/but also pet doctor, and they have really good prices.

Given her age and history of counter surfing, I bet she ate something she shouldn't have. Like a plastic wrapper that smelled like food. Kittens in that age group are terrible about getting into things and trying to eat stuff like that. (so are older ones, I have to constantly get onto the guys around here to never leave anything that has touched food out where a cat can find it.
)

You have to get her in ASAP. The longer you wait the more expensive it will be.
Since you're in Cali, you should have a couple hours (from the time of my post) still to get her in before it becomes an ER visit.

I hope the vet can help her.
