This is Baby. She is one of my rescues that I kept. In this photo she is operating in one of her 2 modes. The other mode is best described as the complete opposite to this one.

Funny story about Baby. She has never been quite right, if you know what I mean. We sometimes think she might be just a little retarded. She has a bad habit of getting up on the keyboard when I'm not looking. One morning I went to the computer after forgetting to hide the keyboard the night before, and found the calculator open with the following number in the display "3.1416"!

Maybe she's secretly a genius after all.

In Britain cats were used to help decode enemy messages made on the Enigma during WWII. Back then they used coloured leads into coloured sockets to act as a primitive computer and apparently some cats had an uncanny knack of being able to choose which lead should go into which socket before a human could. Apparently it happened by accident to start with, after a Bexley employee took his kitty to work. Once they figured out what the cat was up to, they began to train them up. Maybe your cat is a descendant!

(P.S. please read on April 1)

Lovely cat BTW

We did have a cat that we are sure was mentally slow, but we just loved him all the more for it
. He actually didn't start doing kitten stuff until he was about 2 years old, sweet little guy. I guess he was really always just a kitten, no matter how old he got. He's been gone for a long time now, but still holds a very special place in our hearts.
