Nora doesn't fare well now that we keep our house pretty cool. We keep it at 68 during the day but 64 at night. Usually she sleeps with us at night b/c we keep her warm.

The other day I thought I'd try making her a warm bed. I took our bean bag, made a nice pooch in it, draped a beach towel across it, then put a electric heating pad in the pooch seat. We have these blankets that she LOVES, they are cheapo blankets that we found somewhere, and they are like a micro fleece but are super fuzzy. She loves laying on them, so I put one of them folded up over the heating pad.

She refused to lay on the bean bag at first, but yesterday I was trimming my Christmas cards, getting them ready to send out. She insists on being in the same room I am most of the time so she decided to finally lay on the bean bag. I saw her laying in it, so I snuck over and flipped on the heating pad. She's barely moved from it since! haha! She wouldn't even sleep with us last night...she's just too good for us now that she has her own personal warm bed. lol She LOVES it!! It's just barely warm if you touch it, but when she sits in it it turns nice and toasty warm, just perfect for her.

This is what it looks like:

Looks kinda ghetto, but she likes it. lol

LOL! Since we've plugged in the bed warmers for the kitties in their beds, they don't come sleep with us either. They know when they've got it good!

Looks very warm, just don't forget to unplug it when you can't be near it as a few of them have shorted out and caught on fire.

Ooooooo that looks soooooo cozy for a kitty! I'd want one too - but when it's cold, I really like the weight of lots of blankets (and kitties LOL) on me.

Same here!

There have been times as Mollipop has grown that she's not wanted to sleep with me. And I miss that. Now that it's gotten so cold and we keep our house fairly cool, she's started to cuddle with me again at night. She may leave during the night to use the litter box (or to just generally find something to get into trouble with for awhile
), but she comes back to bed and she'll awaken me with her purring so that I can lift the bed covers up so she can burrow in a little bit.

Sometimes I'll see Molli cuddling with Whisper and sometimes she'll be so close to BooBoo that their butts may touch, but overall, when she wants to sleep, she'll flop some place by herself, or she'll come to me.

Cleo would absolutely LOVE something like that! We have one of their beds right beside the heater and she is ALWAYS in it.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Awww that looks nice and toasty for Nora. For the longest time we actually didn't have any cats in bed with us mainly cuz they wanted to sleep with me and I got too hot so id toss them onto bfs side. Lol now with Bacon and Ramsie its a kittypalooza in bed. Bacon in the middle on her back spread eagle (she has no shame the little hussy), Ramsie wrapped around bfs throat and Gigi on my side with me trapped in the horrendous heat of 2 comforters. Hercules atleast has the decency to sleep in the living room undisturbed sprawled out across as many cushions as he can stretch across. I'm hoping that the munsters outgrow their bed hogging habits but I have a feeling they won't since my forever shivering darling hunni bear must has his purrsonal heating blankets in bed at all times. Lol he has a hrem of furry 4 leggers......and I'm their maid!
