My DH knows that I can use a laugh sometimes. Yesterday afternoon, he texted me to say that he would probably be home a little late as he had to take some Christmas gift certificates to another union local near them.
Then the cats texted to say that they heard their dinner was going to be about 45 minutes late and that they were not amused by this in the slightest. And that I had to get RIGHT HOME (their caps, not mine) after work because they would be starving.
I texted back to the cats to say that it wasn't my fault that their PawPurr was going to be late. And that they should greet him with hisses and yowls when he finally walked through the door.
Well, DH made it home before me anyway, by about ten minutes or so. And he told me that all of the cats hissed at him when he came home! The man is a hoot. And he made me smile.
You have to laugh at my DH. One time we were out shopping for the day. We knew we were going to get home later than the cats' normal dinner hour and we knew they wouldn't be happy about that. So he called them on the phone and left a message on the answering machine that he was very sorry, but "You know your Meowmie.....she shops til she drops!"
A couple minutes later, he pretended that his phone was ringing. And it was BooBoo! BooBoo was most unhappy that his dinner was going to be late and he insisted that we come straight home right that minute. DH went on and on, "talking" with BooBoo for about two minutes. Boo finally said that it was OK about his late dinner, provided that I give him extra dry kibble to compensate. And when we got home? He got his extra kibble, too!
