All of a sudden POOPING outside of box!

So I have had my 3 yr old female cat for a year (found her took her too animal shelter, then adopted her) She is very affectionate and clingy and has always been this way. All of a sudden 2 weeks ago she started pooping outside the box, she has NEVER done this before! We have another cat who is a 4 year old male (we had him since he was a kitten) who she gets along with and they have their fights but nothing bad. Why after a year of having her she is poopong outside the box. I have 3 litter boxes, cleaned everyday! She pees in the litter box but now she won't poop. She poops in the same place everyday! Nothing has changed (litter,food,enviroment) now before this my other cat peed on something once and hasn't done it again. She pooped in the place he peed then I cleaned and covered it with a plant so now she found a corner that she poops at all the time now. What is going on? She doesn't seem sick (She eats, plays, drinks, acts normal as she always has) Her poop is normal not runny, what should I do? She only does it when no one is watching.

Take her in for a vet check anyways. How a cat seems and how they really are can be two different things. I have a couple that can get a substantial amount of inflammation in their lungs before they show any symptoms - yet that inflammation is enough to cause damage if ignored. Understand what I'm getting at here?

Do her stools seem overly firm at all? Maybe even take a sample along with you to the vet just to speed things up.


What are you using to clean with? You need a good enzyme cleaner otherwise the smell will remain and she'll go back to those spots.

After its cleaned, is there any way you could put a 4th box in the corner she likes to use?
