I am looking for two pairs of curtains for my seniors room.

They don't sell pairs much any more, only 1 panel per package! Did you ever hear of such a dumb thing? Would you not think you could buy a pair per package. Who buys one panel!??

OK, I am done, just wanted to vent.

I used to buy single panels! LOL Finally gave up on curtains completely, between the pet hair, allergies, etc.

Have you checked out overstock.com? They seem to have stuff that can't be found other places, for decent pricing. No shipping right now!

Good luck!

That's a pet peeve of mine, too! I could see selling sheers that way, but not regular curtains that you'd normally hang in pairs.

Depending on the size of your windows - I go to the Wamsutta outlet store or to Wal-Mart and buy flat sheets. If the windows are smaller, try pillow cases, cut along their seams and opened out. If the sheet is too big it is easy to cut them down and hem. Yes, easier with a machine but possible by hand or buy the hemming tape that you just fold fabric over and iron to fuse.

Then use the clip-on curtain rings and voila, curtains.

Sheets come in so many colors and patterns that it's easy to find something that works with your decor.

I find that hem tape does not work very well. Maybe it's OK for very lightweight fabrics, but it was a waste of time for our IKEA curtains.

I hate that too. I once bought two single panels of corduroy curtains for my son's room from Pottery Barn Kids. They claimed to be the same size, but one ended up being about 3" longer than the other one. I never got around to taking the longer one back. They look a little silly, but if you keep the curtains pulled open/apart you can't really tell unless you look closely.
