New Litter

While Angel lost all her kittens , we have our 3rd chance for the right kitten with Spice. She had 4 babies yesterday (went 70 days!) - 3 males but all of them chocolate.

We will probably pick one of them (2 are "hot" chocolates which I like better) to be our Zorro. I guess I'm not meant to have a chocolate-silver

As long as the kitten is a good show kitten it won't matter that much.

Very sweet looking kittens. What breed are they again I was thinking ocicats (sp?) but wasn't sure. They are sweet looking.

Sorry to hear about Angels bubs.

Are you sure they're all chocolates? 2 on the right look tawny.

I thought silvers didn't do well at shows in the US anyway so you might be better off show-wise having a non silver. Don't know what I'd do if it were like that over here, love my silvers
But if you really want a silver just keep waiting.

Amanda, you're the 2nd person to question "tawny". Yes we are sure they are all chocolates - mom is a cold chocolate-silver and dad is a chocolate - so no tawnies. The "tawny" ones are cold/darker chocolates.

The pics are from when they are born and maybe the darker ones are still a bit damp when the pic was taken. Several of Ann's choc-silvers are cold ones and that's where you get the different shades. They will lighten up a bit as they get older.

"B. Chocolate Class
Chocolate: Chocolate spotting on a warm ivory agouti ground. The nose leather is pink rimmed with chocolate and the paw pads are chocolate pink.

GRC,RW Shamizod's Rusty Nail of Rabeau (Chocolate Spotted Male)

The color chocolate is one of the popular colors of the Ocicat and probably the most misunderstood. This color has a very wide range. On one end of the scale chocolate is referred to by breeders and exhibitors as "HOT." On the other end it is referred to as "COOL" or "COLD." There are many shades of chocolate such as: milk, bittersweet, and dark.

Hot Chocolate refers to warm russet tones in the background color of the coat with chocolate spotting. The russet tones are also called rufous because of the rust color. The rust color is considered warm or hot by breeders and exhibitors.

Cool Chocolate refers to the background color, which is more oatmeal ivory color with chocolate spotting. With the lack of rust in the background, the background is a more cool color."

To Tavia's mom - yes they are Ocicats

Ann rechecked them - one of the hot chocolates is a female, so I'll have a choice between the hot and cold chocolate boys. Those are the ones at the bottom of the picture.

Will get more pics when their eyes open. Right now 3 of them look good with the spots and I'm pretty good at picking out kittens from the beginning.
