Taxoplasmosis in cats

Has anyone had any experience with their cats showing symptoms of taxoplasmosis? And what was your outcome?

Aoibhe has a weird head bobbing action when she looks at something in the distance like she has depth perception problems. When the vet looked at her eyes, she could not see the retina because Aoibhe has a lot of inflammation. After talking with the other vet in the practice, they are deciding to treat her for taxoplasmosis.

My Internet search was very basic on possible symptoms and treatments. And almost every article then had to go into the zoonotic aspect of the disease.

That link put everything in pretty simple terms.

Cornell always has pretty detailed information: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/toxo.html

Thanks. I had read both of those pages. The problem I'm having is that there isn't much to go on. Either cats can have no symptoms or vague symptoms that could be as serious as blindness and death. There doesn't seem to be a typical infection when they show symptoms.

If you're worried, take your ct to the vet. Yes, these are very non-descript symptoms that could be related to a lot of different things. The vet can run blood tests to determine if anything, including toxoplasmosis, is wrong.
